Saturday June 13, 2026 is Nevada Free Fishing and Adventure Day! No fishing license needed for children and adults on all Nevada waters and free entrance into State parks. Grab your poles and go take your family fishing! Sparks Marina and Idlewild Park have special events that day! Check it out!!!

We’re excited to introduce your facilitator, JD Powers

JD is a Peer Support Specialist, Peer Support Specialist Supervisor, Community Health Worker II, and Certified Prevention Specialist with more than eight years of experience supporting individuals on their recovery journey.

What makes JD unique is her ability to combine professional training with lived experience. She believes recovery is about more than substance use it’s about returning to health, wellness, and becoming the person you want to be.

SMART Recovery offers a different approach. Instead of focusing on labels or repeatedly revisiting the problem, participants learn practical tools for managing urges, changing thought patterns, solving problems, and building a life they don’t want to escape from.

Whether you’re struggling with alcohol, drugs, gambling, unhealthy habits, or simply looking for a healthier way forward, SMART Recovery provides a welcoming, judgment-free environment where growth is possible.

Miller Wellness Center is located in Telegraph Square, conveniently located in the center of downtown Carson City! The office is located on the second floor and shares the space with massage therapists, estheticians, social media experts, a photographer, podcaster and Miller Counseling. There is a community bathroom and kitchen! You will have access to the building and your private office 24/7. Suite H is currently empty and waiting for you to join our collaborative where you can create a space that expresses your businesses unique personality. The rent is $550 a month and includes all utilities and internet! There is no elevator in the building! Recovery doesn’t have to look one way.

If traditional 12-step programs haven’t felt like the right fit, you’re not alone. SMART Recovery is now being offered in Carson City as a different approach focused on real-life tools, self-empowerment, and practical strategies you can actually use.

We’re currently looking for 6 individuals willing to commit to once a week for 90 days to help support and grow this program.

This is a free program, open to anyone looking for support, and can be used as part of personal or program requirements when applicable.

No pressure. No labels. Just support that meets you where you are. Additional spots are open for anyone who wants to attend.
