As things are drawing to a close I would like to personally acknowledge two ladies that have stuck by me for the last 3 years as not only my employees, but little sisters I never had and friends.

Emma & Juliana- I will be eternally grateful for both of you. You always showed up for me mentally and physically, always being the best versions of yourselves and treating our members with the utmost respect and kindness. It has been my pleasure to watch you both grow as women and people. Thank you for everything you have done for me. I love you both with my whole heart.

16 days left until we temporarily close our doors and relocate /relaunch

To all of my members who are more like family and friends to us, this message is written to you from a heartbroken girl that had no idea that her life would change completely last Thursday afternoon. That being said, I have to make the heartbreaking news to all of you letting you know that Cali J's Tanning and spray bar will be closing its doors exactly 30 days from today, on December 18, 2024. This news is not something that I want or asked for - I need to articulate that to all of you. This was above my control as my landlord let me know that I was no longer locked in a lease and asked me to vacate the premises at the end of November. I told him that that was not a feasible request as I have people that mean more to me than some of my own family and I needed you all to have the time necessary to come in and finish out your packages. Kenny and I then paid $2200 out of our pockets to be able to remain in the space until December 31, but we do need time to close the place down the last 2 weeks of December. That is why we are giving you 30 days from today to finish out your packages and to be reached out by me directly through phone calls and this post letting you know that unfortunately beyond my control we were asked to vacate the premises at Montello Street.
I need you all to understand. I did not expect this. I did not ask for this and I have no idea where I’m supposed to begin as you all have been my life for 15 years. As most of you know that I kept this legacy going for somebody that means more to me than the air that I breathe and to have to say goodbye is not only going to physically cause me and Kenny pain, but mentally the anguish is beyond anything I have ever wanted to feel. I need you to understand with every word that I am writing to you - that I did not expect this. I did not want this. I did not ask for this. I was requested to do this.
I do not owe them any rent. It isn’t a financial gain. I did not do anything to go against my lease. I’ve never violated any rules. That is why this is so unexpected that I don’t even know how or where to begin.
I’m sure you’ll have questions and I’ll answer them the best I can. I will be reaching out to everybody my database starting today letting you all know. Please bear with the pain that I’m going through mentally- this is more than I can actually handle.
I want to thank you all for the last 15 years of my life. From my heart to all of you guys - your undying support has meant more to me and gotten me through some of the hardest times of my life. I know all of you by name, most of you have become like family, I know your history, who your children are, when your grandchildren have been born, weddings you have attended, and all the milestones you have hit throughout the years and that will stay with me for the rest of my life.
I leave you all knowing that I am still looking for space to relocate the shop into. I’m doing my best to find empty space for lease or salon that is no longer active that I can take over but as you know, the world we live in is not kind to small businesses and I’m really doing my best . Please do me a favor and if you hear rumors that I knew this was coming. Please tell them it’s not true. If you hear that, I’m not doing the right thing please let them know you know who I am. I have done nothing but supported everybody as the best as I could, and again this was not something I was prepared for, I love you all very much and I am sorry that I have to make this. I hope this finds you in good health and a space in your heart that understands that I am very heartbroken.
