If your hair feels dry, adding more oil may not be the answer.

One of the biggest misconceptions I hear in the salon is:

“I oil my hair all the time, but it still feels dry.”

Here’s why:

Oil and hydration are not the same thing.

Your hair needs water-based hydration to help replenish moisture. Oils can help soften the hair, reduce moisture loss, add shine, and support the scalp... but simply applying more oil to dry hair doesn’t necessarily give the hair the hydration it’s missing.
