For tennis elbow, sometimes the tissue needs space, not more pressure.
This bridging technique uses two cups that are gently separated from each other, lifting the tissue between them and creating a bridge.
That lift can help decompress the area, improve tissue glide, and give the nervous system a new input.
Orthopedic cupping is not random cupping.
Assess first. Choose the technique. Treat with intention. Reassess.

Whenever a client shows up for treatment, there should BE a SPECIFIC tissue assessment that occurs before treatment so that SPECIFIC deficits are located and SPECIFIC cups can be chosen along with SPECIFIC techniques to create a SPECIFIC treatment for the SPECIFIC deficits that were located for that SPECIFIC client. LOL…there is a SPECIFIC theme here! Link in bio. Come hang out with me in Seattle this August or in Charlotte this fall!

The massage was to release the tension, the wine was just to make sure it didn’t come back.
Some people leave feeling relaxed… others leave fully committed to the wellness lifestyle. ✨
Good massage, good wine, no stress. That sounds like a successful session to us.
Static cupping doesn’t always have to mean still.
One of my favorite ways to use cups is to place them along the low back, hip, glutes, or lateral hip area, then add gentle stretching and range of motion while the cups are still in place. Cherry on top is to add a little decompression with the cups too! WHEW! Magic!!
That combination gives the tissue a different kind of input. The cups create a decompressive pull, while the stretch and movement allow the client to explore motion through the hip and lumbar spine.
For tight hips, low back stiffness, or that “everything feels stuck” feeling, this can be a great way to work with the body instead of forcing it.
Cup. Stretch. Move. Reassess.
That’s where the magic happens.

These muscles do a lot more than people realize. They help control your pelvis, your stride, your posture, and how freely your hips move. But when they get tight, overworked, or guarded, they can make everything feel restricted — your low back, your hips, even the way you walk.
That’s where cupping can be such a beautiful add-on.
Cupping helps create space in the tissue before we stretch. So instead of just pulling on tight muscles, we’re giving the tissue a little decompression, a little blood flow, and a little sensory input first.
Then when we add stretching or gentle movement, the body often says, ‘Oh, okay, I can let go now.’
So don’t just stretch harder. Think smarter. Assess the tissue, add your cups, move with intention, and let the nervous system be part of the conversation.
That’s how we add to our awesome.
