Sixteen years ago I started spray tanning out of my spare bedroom with questionable ventilation, mediocre solution, and the confidence of someone who had absolutely no business operating a spray gun 😅

Back then, it was just a passion project. I loved helping people feel confident, keeping my besties out of tanning beds, and honestly… I was just spraying for the love of the game. Never did I imagine it would grow into the career, business, and life i have today.

If you know me, you know I’ve never really been someone overly impressed by celebrity culture. To me, fame has never equaled value — it’s just a very public job title. I care far more about who someone is as a human than how many followers, fans, or headlines they have.

But I can still admit how surreal it felt seeing my work walk a red carpet and step onto a national stage in front of millions of people. Going from spraying friends in my spare bedroom to spraying someone the whole country would recognize felt like one of those full-circle moments you don’t fully process until you sit quietly with it later.

And the crazy part is… the celebrity moment isn’t even the thing I’m most proud of.

I’m proud that I built this business from nothing. Proud that I created a space where people leave feeling more confident, more beautiful, lighter, and more themselves. Proud that after 16 years, I still care deeply about every single person who walks into my studio or tent.

Because small business ownership is beautiful… but it is also exhausting in ways people don’t always see.

You are the owner, receptionist, therapist, content creator, accountant, customer service department, crisis manager, cleaner, marketer — and THEN after all that, you still have to physically perform the service with a smile on your face no matter what’s happening in your own life.

There’s no PTO. No sick days. No “I just mentally can’t today.” In 16 years, I can count the appointments I’ve canceled on two hands.

People love to call successful women “lucky,” but nothing about this happened by accident. This business was built on long nights, tears, stress, sacrifice, self-doubt, rebuilding, reinvention, and deciding to keep going even after failing publicly and privately more times than I can count.

And through all of it, my husband has had a front row seat to every unseen part of this journey — the pressure, the burnout, the tears, the moments I wanted to quit, and the moments I realized I was building something far bigger than I ever imagined.

So no… I don’t feel “lucky.”

And I feel incredibly honored that something that started in a tiny spare bedroom turned into this abundant and magical life that allows me to be a present mama, a dedicated wife, and someone who takes care of herself.. all the while running a thriving and lucrative business✨🤗
