Downtown Cedar Rapids Traffic Alert šØ
š Commuters should plan for a temporary closure of 8th Avenue SE at the 4th Street SE railroad crossing from June 9 through June 11, 2026, as infrastructure improvements are underway.
The City of Cedar Rapids will be replacing the asphalt surface at the crossing. This work requires a full closure during construction, so drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes when traveling into and through Downtown.
Crews will work efficiently to minimize disruptions.
