I’ve learned that leadership and kindness are not opposites. In fact, the strongest leaders lead with both.
Every day I have the privilege of helping clients feel more confident, but I also have the responsibility of helping my team build confidence in their skills, their careers, and themselves.

The salon industry needs more leaders who are willing to teach, support, and elevate others—not because they have to, but because they genuinely want to see people succeed.

Your first install won’t look like your sixth year install. And that’s okay.
I think sometimes social media makes it look like mastery happens overnight. It doesn’t.

These clips are 6 years apart. Six years of education. Six years of learning tension, placement, density matching, scalp health, sectioning, comfort, blending, and all the tiny details that truly matter behind the chair.

And honestly? Some of the biggest growth came from allowing myself to not be perfect in the beginning. How could I as a Newby? You don’t become great by waiting until you feel ready. You become great by showing up anyway. By staying teachable. By being humble enough to keep learning and being a better version than you were yesterday. By caring deeply about your craft and your clients.

The little details that felt hard back then are now second nature because I stayed consistent long enough to improve them. Growth takes time. Refinement takes repetition.

And the people who become exceptional are usually the ones who fell in love with the process—not just the outcome.

To every stylist in the beginning stages of their extension journey: Keep going. Get models and practice everyday. Your future work is depending on the experience you’re gaining right now.
