Yesterday I brought my kids with me to my friend’s wedding, and while I was doing one of the bridesmaids’ makeup, my daughter came into the room and sat there watching me work.

In the middle of doing her makeup, she looked at me and said…

“MOM, you are soooooo good at this.” 🥹🥰

And I don’t think she realized just how much I needed to hear that.

Every day I go to work and give it everything I have—and at the end of the day, I do it for them.

When I chose this career, I wanted more than just a job. I wanted to build something of my own. I wanted to be my own boss and create a life where I could be there for my kids.

I wanted to be able to take a day off for a doctor’s appointment, a school event, or something important without having to ask someone else for permission.

I wanted the ability to work extra when we needed extra money instead of stressing about finding a second job.

And somehow, along the way, I was able to turn something I genuinely LOVE and have a passion for into my career. 💄💕

Not everyone gets to say that.

But yesterday, watching my daughter sit there and watch me work—and seeing that she was impressed by something I created and something I’m good at—made my entire day.

Because I’m not only building something for my kids… I’m showing them something, too.

I’m showing my daughter that she doesn’t have to settle. That she can chase something she loves. That she can create her own opportunities. That she can build something for herself. That the traditional path isn’t the only path.

You just have to be willing to go for it. 💕

There was a time in my life when I let my daughter down and broke her heart. So hearing her tell me she was proud of what I was doing meant more to me than she will probably ever understand. 🥹

I told her I might have to start bringing her along sometimes to help me set up and be my little assistant—and she was SO down. 😂🥰

Maybe one day she’ll look back and remember sitting in that room watching her mom work.

And I hope what she remembers most is that her mom never stopped trying to build a better life for her and her brothers.

Everything I do, I do for my kids. Always. ❤️✔️
