Life presents us with a myriad of challenges and opportunities. At times, we may find ourselves on cloud nine, while on other days, we might struggle to get out of bed. The human experience is filled with ups and downs, and it's essential to acknowledge and embrace this reality. When faced with difficulties, it's okay to feel overwhelmed and unsure of how to move forward. However, it's crucial to remember that resilience is key to navigating life's obstacles. By practicing self-compassion and forgiveness, we can learn to be gentler with ourselves and tackle challenges with renewed strength. Remember, growth is often disguised as struggle, and the dots may only connect in hindsight. Embrace the journey, even on the tough days, and know that you are worthy of love and laughter. You don't have to put on a brave face all the time; simply do your best with where you are, and that's enough.

At the end of the day….. I’m grateful for life experiences, I’m grateful for my children, my family, and my friends. Learn to enjoy the small things in life also learned to enjoy life.

The last few weeks have been the most challenging part of my life. I have a lot of unanswered questions and feelings.
Please understand I don’t have all the answers in front of me right now.
Losing a business, and my mother within two weeks has been very overwhelming.

But at the end of the day, I appreciate everybody that has reached out, been there, and showed how much they care is very emotional and overwhelming.
But with my children, my family, and my friends somehow at the end of the day, the Beacon always shine.
Everybody keeps asking me what’s next, at the end of the day I’m not sure where this journey is gonna take me…. But I can tell each and every one of you just be the light that guides you to be a light for others.

Well, it's here the week of the gangster weekend this Friday and Saturday and the celebration of our 112TH anniversary!
Working here and owning the place sometime blows my mind knowing this place is 112 years old, never in my wildest dreams would I have ever guessed that I would own a restaurant let alone the oldest restaurants in Cedar Rapids. Also owning the oldest supper club in Iowa and the second oldest restaurant in the state of Iowa. Like I said I would never have guessed that.
This place would not be where it is today without that person that decided back in 1907 to start building the place and I don't they would have probably ever been in their wildest dreams that it would be around or turning 112 years old this year. A big thank you has to go out to all the previous owners and all the previous people who have worked here to make this place possible. But I hope everybody gets a chance to come out this week and enjoy being a part of the of the history of the lighthouse. Because it's customers like you that have made this place what it is today and for that I am grateful. If you can't make it out this weekend you can always stop out this week or next week to help celebrate our anniversary.
I also wanted to take a moment to say to everybody that's been helping me out with the stuff the last couple months to set this up is thank you. You will never know how I am thankful for everybody that has pitched in to help do things.
