My apologies for taking a minute to get back to these responses, but I needed to take a few days to get my emotions in order. I hope you all can understand. Thank you to those who have shared your experiences in this journey. Your kind words mean the world to me! Also, thank you to those of you that have offered well wishes in this next chapter I’m about to embark on. This was an amazing 7 years and I won’t forget all of the laughs, cries and everything in between that I have been blessed to be a part of. Thank you all.
🖤 Sal.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I announce the closing of a chapter that has meant so much to me.

After a great deal of thought, reflection, and some very difficult conversations, I’ve made the decision to officially step away from my career as a barber.

This is, without a doubt, one of the most difficult decisions I’ve ever had to make.

When I first pursued barbering, I never imagined that one day I would have to walk away from it. In my mind, this was going to be the career I carried with me well into my older years—the career I would eventually retire from. I envisioned myself growing older behind the chair, continuing to build relationships with my clients, perfecting my craft, and doing what I loved for the rest of my working life.

But sometimes, life doesn’t work out the way we imagined it would.

Barbering has been such a significant part of my life. It has allowed me to do something I genuinely love while providing for my family, building relationships, making lifelong friends, and creating countless memories along the way.

Walking away from something I once believed would be my lifelong career is incredibly difficult. But sometimes, moving forward means accepting that the path you originally envisioned for yourself is no longer the path you need to take.

The current state of the economy has played a major role in my decision. The rising cost of living and the financial uncertainty that so many families are facing have made the realities of being an independent barber increasingly difficult. As a husband, father, and provider, I have to think beyond what I want and make decisions based on what I believe is best for my family and our future.

Ultimately, I’ve reached the point where pursuing a new career path will give me the opportunity to provide greater stability, security, and opportunity for my family.

That doesn’t make walking away from barbering any easier.

I also want to take a moment to give a very special thank you to my Luxe family.

For the past four years, Luxe has been so much more than a place where I came to work. It became a second home. The people I worked alongside became family, and some of my favorite memories of my career were made within those four walls.

: thank you for four amazing years. Thank you for the laughs, the conversations, the crazy days, the good times, the difficult times, and every memory in between. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this family and for making these four years such an incredible chapter of my life.

I’m going to miss working alongside you every single day more than I can put into words.

And to every client who has ever sat in my chair—thank you.

Thank you for trusting me, supporting me, recommending me to your friends and family, and allowing me to be a small part of your lives. Every appointment, conversation, friendship, and memory has meant more to me than you probably realize.

I will always be proud of the career I built behind the chair. I’ll always be grateful for the people I met and the lives I was fortunate enough to cross paths with.

There is a lot I will miss.

There will be days when I’ll probably wish I could go back and do it all over again.

But I know that sometimes the hardest decisions are the ones we have to make when our responsibilities become bigger than our plans.

My family is my reason for moving forward.

September 26, 2026 will be my final day behind the chair. It will be a day filled with emotions, memories, and gratitude for a career I once thought would be my forever.

I’m walking away extremely sad, but also with gratitude for where this journey has taken me and faith in where the next one will lead.

Thank you for every haircut.
Thank you for every conversation.
Thank you for every friendship.
Thank you for every memory.

And most of all, thank you for allowing me to make barbering a part of my life.

Some chapters aren’t meant to last forever.

Sometimes, we simply have to be grateful that we got to live them.

Here’s to closing one chapter and having the courage to begin another. 💈

It starts with one run.

The votes are in, and you’ve spoken—our very first RYP Community Run will officially be 2 miles.

Thank you to everyone who voted and helped shape Run // 001. What started as an idea is getting closer to becoming a community, and we can’t wait to finally hit the pavement together.

We’re putting the finishing touches on the date, time, and meetup location, and the official event announcement is coming soon.

2 miles. All paces. One community.

This is only the beginning.

Every Pace Has A Place.
