Brand new clip-in extensions? Donāt skip this step.
One of the first things I do with any new set of clip in hair extensions is give them a good wash before they ever touch a brideās hair.
Most extension companies apply a finishing treatment during manufacturing to help the hair look smooth, shiny and prevent tangling while itās packaged and shipped. Washing them first removes that finish so the hair can expand to the true texture and helps it blend more naturally with your own hair.
Plus, clean extensions hold curls and styling products much better šš¼

One thing we had to consider during Sarahās bridal preview, sheād recently started experiencing postpartum hair loss, so it became part of our game plan.
This is something I hear from brides more often than you might think. Whether itās postpartum hair loss, a thinning hairline or your hair just isnāt what it used to be because⦠life. The good news is it doesnāt automatically mean changing your dream hairstyle!
During every bridal trial, weāre talking through things like hair density, growth, texture, cowlicks, and any areas youād like a little extra coverage. Those details help me customize the style so it works with your hair, not against it! And thatās exactly why bridal trials are so valuable.

Anyone else ride home in complete silence on the way home from working a wedding? š¤£
I genuinely pour my heart, soul, (and every ounce of energy) š into my brides and their wedding mornings. Itās the best job in the world, and the connections and conversations I have truly fill my cup with every wedding that I do.
But if you know me, then you know my phone is on do not disturb and the sweatpants are on before I even unpack my hair kit š¤£
Being the lead hairstylist is so much more than just doing hair. There are timelines, emails, consultations, coordinating with vendors, and making sure the entire morning runs smoothly.
So every once in a while, itās kind of refreshing to be the assistant! I get to show up, open my kit, chat with the girlies and just create āØ
I love both roles for completely different reasons, and getting to do both makes me appreciate my own brides even more š

So hereās the plot twist š
She already had a lot of hair. Like, density for days.
But after being a bridesmaid recently, she noticed something important, the bride had extensions, and her style stayed locked in from ceremony to after-party. No sagging. No falling apart.
Thatās when we shifted the plan.
Extensions arenāt always about adding length or fullness.
Sometimes theyāre about creating a stronger foundation so the style holds its shape longer, photographs better, and doesnāt slowly deflate as the day goes on (especially with the August heat for her wedding!)
For her, clip-ins gave us structure, longevity, and even fullness since we were pulling so much of it up and she couldnāt even tell which hair was the extensions versus her own!

Being a bridesmaid made her change her hair plan.
She noticed how much better the brides hair held all day with extensions, even though the bride already had plenty of hair too. That was the lightbulb moment.
Extensions arenāt always about length or making hair look āthicker.ā Sometimes theyāre about structure, longevity, and support, especially if you want your style to hold from ceremony to last dance.
In this trial, we talked through wave pattern, hold, and how to keep everything feeling like her, just elevated and more reliable.
