MacKenzie came in with very fine, brittle, shoulder-length hair and wanted long, full Hollywood waves for her wedding day, I’m not gonna lie.. this was a challengeee but if you’ve watched a few of my videos then you know I’m never afraid of a challenge 😏

To make this possible, we used two packs of 20-inch extensions, not just to add length, but to add the thickness needed for the waves to hold, to blend her short hair into the waves and look full from every angle.

With the right extension placement and styling technique, fine and short hair can absolutely become the voluminous bridal hair of your dreams that photographs beautifully and lasts all day!

The reveal ✨✨
After wanting to love the low bun we did at her trial but just not feeling good in it, she decided she wanted it pulled half up, but how? That was the big question.. so we treated her hairstyle like a puzzle and pieced it together.

She wanted her ears exposed but didn’t want it pulled up too high, so we settled on it pulled straight back. We decided to leave face framing pieces out and could always pull them back later (but she ended up loving them). We went with a relaxed beach wave over an overly voluminous curl, and for the detail, we just kept it simple with a dainty twist.

Anddddd?? We nailed it! Sometimes it’s hard to articulate what you really want especially if you don’t see the exact inspo photo you’re looking for, that’s why collaboration with my brides is key!

For this style ._ desert dry texture spray was the star of show! Even though my bride didn’t want a ton of texture, her hair was really heavy and course and we needed to add dry texture to her hair so that it wouldn’t droop down and just fall flat.

My bride wanted to do something completely different than what we did at her bridal hair preview.

At Abi’s preview we did a low bun but she just wasn’t in love with how it looked on her (and that’s totally ok!). Her hair color made for a high contrast between her blonde bun and her dark roots and she wasn’t a fan of how exposed her hairline was. So on the wedding day she knew she wanted to do something totally different but we weren’t quite sure what…
