TBT 1940's Elegant Styles.
Women:
Think of the long curling styles demonstrated by the movie stars of the time from Veronica Lake to Lauren Bacall.1940’s hairstyles are one of the most stylish hairstyles for women in the history of hair fashion. Perfectly styled and mostly voluminous hair was the trend throughout the decade.
Men:
The famous men’s hairstyles in 1940’s era were: the crew cut hairstyles, the flattop hairstyle, the slicked back hairstyles and the side part hairstyles. The Crew Cut hairstyle were very trendy and popular that time because of the World War II. In this hairstyle, the hair was cropped or shaved very shortly on the man’s head sides and left slightly longer on the top of the head.

TBT...1920s
Flapper Hairstyle Revolution
Bobbed hair was first made popular by dancer Irene Castle, as far back as 1916, is the definitive hairstyle look for the 1920s. Known as the Castle Bob it was simply a tousled straight round cut that was level with the lobes of the ears. As the 1920s advanced, it became synonymous with the flapper look. To wear your hair short was a major statement by a woman, one of independence.
The popular hairstyles for men were mustaches and beards. Their hair was flat and plastered down. Another popular hairstyle for men was the military cut. Hair pieces were also big in the 1920's. By the end of the 1920's the popularity of the mustache was decreasing. Prior to the 1920's boys hairstyles were longer and once girls starting cutting their hair shorter so did the boys.
