Alex recently had the honor of speaking to the Wild Azalea Garden Club in Highlands, North Carolina. It was a wonderful group to spend the afternoon with. In conjunction with his talk, he checked in on some of our favorite gardens which are in full bloom!

The entry is not only the beginning point of design, but also what welcomes you home. A thoughtfully designed entry landscape sets the tone, creating a seamless transition from the outside world to your personal retreat.

Pause for a moment of reflection or take a dip to cool off, nothing draws you out of the house and into the landscape like a swimming pool in the summer.

We strive to design a pool which compliments the setting and can be enjoyed in a quiet moment of relaxation or as a welcoming gathering space for family and friends.

Alex wanted to make sure to include this great picture of Troy Scott Smith, Anna Catherine and Alex. This was the Sunday we arrived and Troy was a gracious host and gave us a private tour of Sissinghurst followed by pizza at The Milk House Pub

After leaving Sissinghurst, Alex and Kim made their way to Barnsley to stay at the Pig Hotel. This is the garden where Alex trained under the late Rosemary Verey. The hotel is exceptional and Alex enjoyed speaking with the staff and visiting his old stomping grounds from over 30 years ago.

Alex couldn’t be more proud of his daughter Anna Catherine, who is studying Landscape Architecture at Clemson. Anna Catherine will be working for the next three weeks at Sissinghurst Castle. She will be learning from one of the greats, Alex’s friend Troy Scott Smith, the head gardener at Sissinghurst. This garden is incredibly beautiful and AC had decided to follow a similar path as her dad as she continues to explore the world of landscape design and gardening.
