“Let me be clear,” she continued. “This chaos you keep talking about isn’t spontaneous. It’s being amplified. Weaponized. Used for political gain.”

A panelist tried to jump in, but Badu raised her hand, halting the interruption with professional poise.
“No—look at the facts. When communities are allowed to spiral out of control, when voices are silenced, when the rule of law is weakened, ask yourself one question: who benefits?”

She paused, then answered it herself.
“Not the marginalized.”

“This disorder is being used to scare people. To convince them that our society is beyond repair. And then—conveniently—to blame those who advocate for change.”

Someone muttered, “That sounds divisive.”
Badu snapped back immediately.
“No. Advocating for justice is not divisive. Speaking up for rights is not divisive. Protecting communities from violence is not undermining democracy—it’s the essence of it.”

The camera zoomed in.
“The real game here,” Erykah Badu said, her voice sharpening, “is convincing people that demanding justice is dangerous while celebrating silence as peace.”

She spoke slowly, deliberately.
“Those calling for change aren’t trying to silence the system. They’re trying to amplify the voices that the powerful ignore—the people who just want a safe community and a fair opportunity.”

Badu finished, staring straight into the lens.
“America doesn’t need more fear-driven narratives. It doesn’t need apocalyptic monologues. It needs truth, accountability, and leaders who aren’t afraid to say that justice is not the enemy of freedom.”

The room fell quiet—not from shock, but because the message had been delivered plainly.

Their Cosmetology Department is beautiful 🤩, the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Today we were able to identify the need for diversity within their program. My plan is to pull from my 25 years of experience in the Cosmetology field.

Helping students further their understanding and knowledge. Pertaining to African American natural hair care and styling is what I ❤️ to do!

We have 30 days to figure out all the details. We're both so excited to begin this collaboration.
