8 YEARS OF STUDIO BLACK 🖤

Today I realized that Studio Black has officially been my little dream for 8 years, and today also marks 6 years in my home studio. 🥹

It’s honestly hard to put into words what that means to me.

Eight years ago, at 22 years old, I took a chance on myself. I had enough faith in myself to believe that I could build something of my own, even though I had no idea what it would eventually become.

And now, eight years later, Studio Black is still here, still growing, and was recently ranked the #6 salon in the Champaign-Urbana area. 🥹 If you would’ve told 22-year-old me that, I don’t know if she would’ve believed you.

Studio Black has grown, changed and evolved right alongside me. There have been amazing seasons, challenging ones, long days, late nights and plenty of moments where owning a business was anything but easy — but through all of it, I kept believing in what I was building. And I can genuinely say that I am so incredibly proud of myself for that.

But more than anything, I am grateful.

To every single person who has ever sat in my chair, booked an appointment, referred a friend, shared one of my posts, trusted me for their wedding day, supported a new service or simply continued coming back year after year — thank you.

I don’t think my clients will ever fully understand how much I genuinely care about them. So many of you have been with me through different chapters of my life, and I’ve been lucky enough to be there for so many of yours. You’ve watched me grow up, become a mom, grow my business and continue chasing bigger dreams.

Because of you, I get to wake up and do something I truly love. You’ve helped me create a career, a life and a business that 22-year-old me could only dream about.

I’m incredibly proud of myself, incredibly grateful for all of you, and so thankful that taking a chance on myself all those years ago turned this little dream of mine into my real life.

One thing I’ve heard time and time again is how difficult it can be to fit a hair appointment into an already busy work week.

To better accommodate my working women, busy moms, and those with packed schedules, I’ll be opening Sunday appointments throughout the summer!

✨ Salon Update ✨

One thing I love about my clients is that many of you are my low-maintenance girls. Your color grows out beautifully, life gets busy, and before we know it, it’s been 4, 5, or even 6 months since your last appointment! 😂

Just a reminder that you don’t always need a full color appointment to get back in my chair. I offer a variety of refresh services including glosses, toners, treatments, mini blonding services, haircuts, and other maintenance appointments to help keep your hair feeling fresh between larger visits.

I know sometimes a full blonding appointment isn’t in the budget or schedule, and that’s okay! A refresh appointment can be a great way to maintain your look while still treating yourself.

Also, by popular request, I am officially offering men’s haircuts again! ✂️
