Some of the things my massage experience has helped me with on my journey with my tibial plateau fracture. I've added soft tissue work and gentle movement strategies to the PT exercises that were assigned, and am quite ahead of schedule on my ROM and scar mobility.
Edgework and Taiji/Qigong inform my movement play. Here are some videos about Edgework

Cory Blickenstaff is a good name to use to keep the search for Edgework targeted to physical therapy topics.
Unlike a lot of PT, the point of the exercise is not about strengthening at all. It is about graded exposure, and finding ease in the movement.
Here's a video that also shows some hands-on stuff that addresses nerve entrapments. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORpLt10Dz44
Work on your scar(s). My little sister found great relief using a wine cork, just doing little circles along the scar - she had a TKR 5-1/2 weeks before my accident. I do skin stretching every day, a technique from my years doing massage. It comes from a line of work called DermoNeuroModulation (DNM). Skin stretching itself is also known as indirect myofascial release. Stick my hand to the skin and twist clockwise or counterclockwise and hold for a minute or two. PTs tend to learn an older technique called skin rolling which is more aggressive (and painful). (skin rolling: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHlf-7u_AkI ) This next video is helpful to understand and shows another variation of this kind of work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZzTabZ91BA&t=199s
