Hello from the Veritas Aesthetics skincare gang! We have been very blessed this year to grow as much as we have. This year has been a year of unpredictability and fear for business owners and Americans as a whole. Our team’s dedication to helping our patients on their skin journey has United us to one big family. We want to thank everyone of our patients for their understanding and support in this crazy time. Meet our MedSpa Manager and Medical Aesthetician Karsen. An Alaskan native, she has been with us since June and absolutely knows skin inside and out. She specializes in lash extensions, Diamondglow, and chemical peels. She also helps those with difficult skin conditions to help them find their own unique skincare regimen to heal and repair their skin from the inside out. She believes that beauty is within and brings that part out in every patient she treats. Her deep professionalism and passion for skincare truly defines who she is and we love her dedication to our patients.

This is Olivia. An Arizona native, dog mom to Nala, and Medical Aesthetician here at Veritas Aesthetics. She specializes in Dermalinfusions, microneedling, chemical peels, laser hair removal, dermaplaning, and custom facials for all skin types. Her goal is to make you feel beautiful and confident in your own skin!

Blue LED light therapy and acne. Does it work?

Acne Vulgaris is a skin condition that happens when hair follicles are blocked with dead skin cells, bacteria and oil (sebum). The blocked follicles cause blemishes on the skin, including pimples, blackheads, whiteheads and cysts. Blue light range is very effective in treating mild to moderate acne vulgaris.

Propionibacterium acne (P. Acne) is relatively slow growing and linked to the skin condition acne. It can also cause chronic blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelid margins) and endophyhalmitis (inflammation of the interior cavity of the eye). When P. Acne is exposed to blue light energy, a photo-toxic event is created resulting in the death of the bacteria. Meaning the when blue light range hits these bacteria the photodynamic reaction produces singlet oxygen species and reactive free radicals which destroy themselves! In simple words the P. Acne bacteria commits su***de. How awesome!
