Finding the right wedding dress has been such an exciting adventure filled with so many mixed emotions. 🥹

Traditionally in Hmong culture, I would wear a Hmong wedding dress made by my family, adorned with intricate embroidery and designs passed down through generations. It represents so much more than a dress — it carries our history, traditions, family, and the stories of the women who came before us.

Growing up learning about my culture, my curiosity blossomed into a desire to learn to read and write in Hmong and to embrace my heritage more deeply. I never imagined I would marry outside of my culture, especially since no one in my immediate family had.

Yet, life has a beautiful way of surprising us. Love has a way of bringing two worlds together, reminding us that love sees no difference in culture, but sees the heart, the person, and the beautiful connection between two souls. It doesn’t ask us to abandon where we come from; it invites us to learn from one another, embrace our differences, and build something beautiful together.

As I step into this new chapter of my life, I want to honor those roots while also embracing the modern bride I’ve always envisioned myself to be.

I dream of a sleek, beachy, and romantic white dress that reflects the vision I have for our wedding day: reciting our vows by the ocean, beneath the open sky as it bears witness to our love, with the waves cheering us on from afar and the warmth of love surrounding us as we stand hand in hand, embraced by our dearest friends and family. 🌊☀️

Because in the end, our love story isn’t defined by the cultures we come from, but by the love, respect, and commitment we choose to share.
