What an inspiring weekend with Revance Aesthetics and an incredible group of physicians from across the aesthetics community. š«
One of my favorite parts of these gatherings is the opportunity to have meaningful conversations with colleagues who are constantly thinking about how we can advance aesthetic medicine. This weekend brought together so many different perspectives, ideas, and experiences.
I was also honored to be one of five physicians invited to present during our āShark Tankā session, where we shared ideas for research grant consideration. It was such a fun and energizing experience to hear the other presentations and see the passion behind each project.
And a very special congratulations to my Vos Collection colleague, Dr. Ava Shamban : Skincare & Selfcare who took home the win! š It was wonderful to see her innovative work recognized among such an impressive group of presenters.
Thank you to Revance for creating a space that encourages collaboration, curiosity, and new ideas. Iām grateful to be part of a community that continues to push our field forward.

So, the ādoneā look is out. But what does a natural-looking result actually require?
In a recent blog, Dr. Payvand Kamrani explores how patient expectations around aesthetic treatments have shifted and why natural-looking results have become such a priority.
But natural-looking doesnāt mean doing less. It means taking a more thoughtful approach: looking at the face as a whole, considering skin quality alongside structure and movement, and thinking beyond a single treatment or appointment.
Ultimately, the goal of aesthetic treatment is to help you look like yourself, at your best.
What if we stopped trying to āanti-ageā and started thinking about aging differently?
I call it positive aging; a philosophy thatās at the heart of how I approach every patient.
Aging is something to celebrate, not something we need to fight. My goal isnāt to make someone look like a younger version of themselves, but to help them look and feel like the very best version of who they are today.
That means crafting treatment plans that enhance how you feel, not become the focus of how you live. Because when you feel comfortable and confident, you can turn your attention to the things that matter most.
That, to me, is what positive aging is all about. ā¤ļø

Beautiful improvement in this patient's chin scar after a combination of V-beam, Fraxel Dual, and a neuromodulator. Each treatment was chosen to address a different aspect of the scar, and together they helped create this natural result.
Neuromodulator: A āmicroā treatment can help reduce tension in the area. By limiting the pulling on healing skin, we can often help a scar heal smoother and finer over time.
V-beam: A pulsed dye laser that targets redness in the scar, helping the color become more even.
Fraxel Dual: Helps stimulate collagen and remodel the scar, improving the texture so it blends more naturally with the surrounding skin.
Scars are actually one of the most complex (and rewarding!) concerns to treat. They have elements of color and texture - all while respecting and supporting the healing environment.

What exactly is ācollagen bankingā?
The buzzword is new - but the concept isnāt!
In a recent blog, Dr. Lisa Ishii breaks down what collagen banking actually means, whether thereās any real merit to the concept, and what it can look like in practice.
The term is often used to describe a preventative approach to skin aging, but you canāt actually store collagen away for later.
Instead, the focus is on prioritizing collagen stimulation and supporting new collagen production over time to help optimize skin quality, suppleness, and firmness.
The right approach depends on your skin, your age, and your goals. And as with any cosmetic treatment, building collagen takes patience and maintenance!

A quick trip to New York for Galdermaās Sculptra Cellulite Investigator Meeting, joined by our PA, Corynn, and Clinical Research Lead, Michael.
I love investigator meetings for the opportunity to connect with colleagues who share a passion for research and advancing aesthetic medicine. Thereās always something new to learn, and Iām grateful to be part of conversations that help move our field forward.
Of course, I couldnāt be in New York without squeezing in some time with my son, Liam. ā¤ļø
Back in clinic feeling inspired and excited to continue our research!

Incredible hair restoration results by my PA team after prescription therapy combined with a series of PRP treatments! āØ
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) stimulates hair growth when injected into the scalp - helping improve density, thickness, and coverage over time. This treatment works for both male & female pattern hair loss.
We Typically Recommended:
š¹ 3ā4 initial treatments
š¹ Maintenance 1ā2x/year
This patientās secret to looking youthful?

After 9 years of working together, hearing her describe my role as equal parts ātrusted advisor and artistā meant so much to me.
Aesthetic medicine isnāt about doing every treatment. Itās about knowing what is right for you. The most important part of any treatment plan is working with someone who knows when to say no.
Thereās no one-size-fits-all approach to looking your best. My goal is always natural, refreshed results that still look like YOU.

One of the things I love most about what I do is getting to know my patients over time. After 9 years of working together, Iām so thankful this patient was open to sharing her story. ā¤ļø
Hearing her describe my role as equal parts ātrusted advisor and artistā was incredibly meaningful to me. Because at the end of the day, thatās exactly what weāre here for: providing unbiased advice to help people feel more confident and connected to the best version of themselves.
Patients come in asking about particular treatments every day, but our job is to help determine what will actually look best for them - even if that means saying no to something they had in mind!
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to looking your best. My goal is always to help my patients look natural, refreshed, and like themselves - and, most importantly, to feel confident when they walk out the door!

Itās always so rewarding to see years of clinical research work come together!
Iām excited to share the publication of our study, Effectiveness and Safety of RHA4 Versus Comparator Product for Midface Volume Deficiency: A Randomized, Prospective, Multicenter Clinical Study in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology.
We looked at RHA4 for midface volume deficiency in a randomized, multicenter clinical trial, comparing it with an FDA-approved comparator product, JuvƩderm Voluma.
āļøA few highlights from the studyāļø
⢠RHA4 was shown to be as effective as the active comparator for correction of midface volume deficit
⢠Both products produced significant and clinically meaningful improvement in midface volume and contour
⢠Improvements were maintained through the follow-up period, with high patient satisfaction and ratings of natural-looking results
⢠RHA4 had a favorable safety profile, with most treatment-related events being mild to moderate and resolving without intervention
Iām grateful to have been part of the research behind this study and excited to see these findings published!
