Just because the original idea didn’t work out doesnt mean you can’t love your hair! After doing a test strand and seeing what that lightener did to her hair we decided to go a completely different route and she fell in love with it!!

✨ Why are test strands SO important? ✨

Especially when it comes to color corrections, a test strand can make all the difference! 🤎

A test strand allows me to see how your hair will react to color, lightener, or corrective products before we commit to your entire head. Every head of hair has a different history, and previous color, box dye, bleach, extensions, heat, and chemical services can all affect the outcome.

That’s why being completely honest with your stylist is SO important. 🫶🏼 Even if you used box dye months ago, had a color done by someone else, used at-home products, or don’t remember exactly what was used—tell us! There’s no judgment. We just need the full picture to make the safest and most realistic plan for your hair. This client was phenomenal! She told me absolutely everything that was on her hair and was so easy going the whole process!

With color corrections, there can be a lot happening underneath the surface that we can’t see. A test strand helps determine what your hair can safely handle, what formula or technique may work best, and whether your desired result is realistically achievable in one appointment.

Sometimes the safest answer is “we need a little more time,” and I’ll always choose protecting the integrity of your hair over rushing the process, and just because the original idea didn’t work doesn’t mean you can’t have amazing hair!🤍
