THIS. 🤍 This is why I do what I do.
There is nothing more rewarding than hearing that something I created has become part of a family’s everyday routine—especially when a mama has spent so long searching for something gentle enough for her little one’s sensitive skin.
Melissa shared that after trying everything since her son was an infant, my baby creams were the products that finally made the difference for his eczema—and that Siloè skincare has transformed her own skin, too. 🌿
Reviews like this mean more to me than I can put into words.
Siloè was created around a simple philosophy: support the barrier, calm the skin, nourish it intentionally, and don’t overwhelm it.
From babies with delicate, reactive skin to mamas trying to restore their own, every formula is made with purpose and with the whole family in mind.
Thank you, Melissa, for trusting me with your family’s skin. 🤍
Real people. Real skin. Real results.

When your eczema flares, reach for Skin Shield first. 🌿
When skin is angry, inflamed and reactive, my first priority is always the same: calm it down and support the barrier.
Skin Shield was intentionally formulated for those moments when compromised skin needs simple, nourishing support. For skin that may also be vulnerable to microbial imbalance, I may pair it with one of my ozonated formulations, such as Bum Bum Balm or Intensive Overnight Barrier Balm, depending on the individual skin concern.
But what if you have absolutely no idea where to start?
You don’t have to guess which product is right for you.
That is exactly why I created my one-on-one Virtual Comprehensive Skin Analysis. Before we even meet, I review an extensive intake covering your skin history, current and previous products, medications and supplements, lifestyle, diet, allergies, hormonal influences, environmental exposures and other potential contributors.
Then we look at the bigger picture together:
🌿 How did your skin get here?
🌿 What may be triggering or perpetuating your flares?
🌿 What does your barrier need right now?
🌿 Are you using products that could be making things worse?
🌿 Is there something outside my scope that warrants a referral or additional testing?
If your history suggests that something deeper deserves investigation—whether that means discussing gut testing, food sensitivities, environmental factors or asking your medical provider about appropriate hormone or other laboratory testing—we can talk through those next steps and where a referral may be appropriate.
But we don’t have to wait for every answer before supporting your skin.
We can start by repairing and protecting your barrier. 🤍
No guessing. No throwing ten new products at inflamed skin. We build an intentional plan based on your skin, your history and your individual triggers.

WHY I FORMULATE WITH TAMANU 🌿
When I say every ingredient in my formulations has a purpose, this is what I mean.
Tamanu oil isn’t simply another trendy botanical oil. Research has explored its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antioxidant and skin-repair properties—all particularly interesting when we’re talking about compromised, inflammation-prone skin.
Atopic dermatitis isn’t simply “dry skin.” It involves disruption of the skin barrier, inflammation, immune activity and changes within the skin microbiome.
This is why my approach is barrier first.
Instead of overwhelming compromised skin with endless ingredients, I intentionally choose botanicals that complement the biology of the skin—and tamanu is one of my favorites.
🌿 Support the barrier.
🌿 Calm the skin.
🌿 Protect vulnerable skin.
🌿 Keep formulations intentional.

ZINC + MELANIN: LET’S TALK ABOUT THE COPPER CONNECTION. 🤎
Did you know copper plays a direct role in melanin production?
Tyrosinase is one of the key enzymes involved in melanogenesis—the process your melanocytes use to produce melanin—and tyrosinase is a copper-dependent enzyme. Copper ions within the enzyme are necessary for its activity.
This is one reason mineral balance is something worth considering when we’re looking at the skin from a whole-body perspective. But melasma is complex, and copper is only one piece of a much bigger picture that can include hormones, UV exposure, visible light, inflammation and genetics.
And this is another reason I cannot emphasize daily photoprotection enough when you’re prone to melasma or excess pigmentation. UV and visible light can stimulate melanogenesis, and consistent broad-spectrum photoprotection is considered a cornerstone of melasma management. For visible-light-sensitive pigmentation, tinted sunscreen containing iron oxides can offer additional protection.
🌿 Where does zinc come in?
Zinc is an essential mineral involved in numerous processes throughout the body, and zinc and copper can influence one another’s absorption and balance. If you suspect your mineral levels may be off, talk with your medical provider about whether testing—and, if appropriate, zinc supplementation—makes sense for you. I would never recommend blindly supplementing zinc simply because you have melasma, because excessive supplemental zinc can itself interfere with copper status.
Topically, my Zinc Barrier Balm is about something equally important to my approach: supporting and protecting the skin barrier instead of continually stressing already reactive skin.
Melasma isn’t simply about bleaching away pigment.
Understand the signaling.
Protect the skin.
Support the barrier.
Address your individual triggers.
Stay consistent. 🤎
Because when you’re dealing with chronic, recurring pigmentation, we’re playing the long game.

ZINC BARRIER BALM + MELASMA 🤎
Melasma is so much more than pigment sitting on the surface of your skin. Melanocytes, tyrosinase, hormones, UV + visible light, heat, inflammation and barrier function can all play a role in the signaling that keeps excess melanin production going.
This is why I am so passionate about barrier support when working with stubborn pigmentation.
When your skin is already inflamed and reactive, constantly throwing stronger treatments at it isn’t always the answer. Lasers, progressive chemical peels and pigment-correcting treatments can have their place—but if we aren’t also addressing the environment that keeps signaling those melanocytes, the pigmentation can continue to return. Melasma is notoriously multifactorial and recurrent.
✨ This is where my Zinc Barrier Balm comes in.
Zinc oxide provides a physical protective layer while helping support vulnerable, irritated skin. I use it as part of a calm → protect → restore → then correct approach rather than continually stressing an already compromised barrier.
And protection matters EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. ☀️ UV radiation is a major melasma trigger, and visible light can contribute to pigmentation as well—especially in deeper Fitzpatrick skin types.
Melasma can also be influenced by hormonal fluctuations and inflammatory signaling, which is exactly why I don’t believe in looking at pigment in isolation.
Barrier support is the foundation.
Calm the inflammation.
Identify your triggers.
Protect the skin.
Then address the pigment. 🤎
If you’re struggling with melasma that improves and then comes right back, reach out to me. We can work one-on-one to look deeper at what may be contributing to YOUR skin and create a long-term plan.
Because chronic skin concerns take time. Consistency over intensity. Always.

Mamas deserve to be cared for, too. 🤍
My heart and passion behind my work has always been supporting women and their families through every stage of life. As a holistic aesthetician and integrative skin therapist, much of my work centers around inflammatory and compromised skin—but pregnancy and postpartum will always hold a particularly special place in my heart.
That’s exactly why I created these postpartum essentials. 🌿
From a botanical Postpartum Bath Soak for a soothing moment of care, to my Bum Bum Balm—which isn’t just for babies!—for delicate, irritated skin, to my rich Ni**le Butter created for nursing and pumping mamas who need serious moisture and comfort for tender skin.
And yes, the Ni**le Butter can also be used as a pumping lubricant. 🤍
Because after growing, birthing and nourishing another human being, your body deserves ingredients that were chosen with just as much care as the ones you choose for your baby.
Simple. Intentional. Mama-made.

Nothing makes my day more than hearing this. 🤍
This is exactly why I created Siloè Skin—to make skincare simpler, gentler, and intentional. Cleanse. Hydrate. Protect. You don’t need an overwhelming routine to start supporting a healthier skin barrier.
Liz noticed a difference after her very first use, and I’m so excited to see how her skin responds with consistency. 🌿

Rebalancing + restoring your skin barrier can be as simple as 1 • 2 • 3. 🌿
But simple doesn’t mean instant.
When skin is chronically irritated, dehydrated, reactive or simply will not calm down, my first priority isn’t adding more actives.
Less is often more.
Before we aggressively address pigmentation, breakouts, texture or aging, I want the barrier supported, hydrated and functioning properly. And that takes consistency.
This is the simple 3-step foundation I love:
1️⃣ CLEANSE — Balancing Facial Cleanser
Your cleanser should cleanse without leaving your skin feeling tight and stripped. Mine begins with organic cold-pressed olive oil and creates a gentle, pH-conscious cleanse designed with sensitive skin in mind.
2️⃣ HYDRATE — Barrier Repair Hydration Mist 💧
This is where we flood the outer layers of the skin with hydration.
Snow Mushroom (Tremella), Sodium PCA, glycerin, panthenol and other humectant/barrier-supportive ingredients help attract and retain water while supporting softer, plumper, more comfortable skin.
Think: hydrate → calm → support.
3️⃣ PROTECT + SEAL — Zinc Barrier Balm 🤍
Now we help keep that hydration where we put it.
A zinc-based protective balm creates a physical barrier over the skin, helping reduce moisture loss while supporting irritated, compromised or environmentally stressed skin.
That’s it.
Cleanse → Hydrate → Seal + Protect.
Skin renewal takes time. Depending on what we’re addressing, meaningful improvement can take weeks to months, and chronic concerns often require looking beyond skincare alone.
Your skin is constantly communicating with you.
Sometimes the answer isn’t another acid, peel or trendy active.
Sometimes the first step is simply giving the barrier what it needs—and giving it enough time to respond. 🌿

🫐 INGREDIENT SPOTLIGHT: BLACK CURRANT SEED OIL
There’s a reason this is one of my favorite oils for barrier-focused skincare.
Black currant seed oil has an unusually beautiful fatty-acid profile—providing gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) alongside linoleic acid and omega-3 fatty acids, including alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) and stearidonic acid (SDA).
Why does that matter?
Your skin barrier isn’t just about adding moisture. The outermost layer of the skin relies heavily on lipids to help keep water in and environmental stressors out.
When that barrier becomes depleted, skin can begin to feel dry, tight, reactive and uncomfortable.
🌿 This is where black currant seed oil shines.
Its lipid-rich composition makes it an incredible ingredient for:
✨ Replenishing barrier-supportive fatty acids
💧 Helping reduce moisture loss
🌿 Nourishing dry + depleted skin
🤍 Supporting softer, more supple skin
✨ Calming the appearance of stressed, reactive skin
And one of the things I love most about it is the GLA.
GLA is an omega-6 fatty acid involved in pathways related to healthy skin-barrier function and inflammatory signaling—which is exactly why I became so interested in incorporating black currant seed oil into my formulations.
I don’t formulate around what’s trendy.
I formulate around what the skin actually needs to function well.
You’ll find organic black currant seed oil in my Nourish Facial Oil, where I pair it with other carefully selected botanical lipids to replenish the skin after hydration.
💧 Hydrate first.
🌿 Replenish lipids.
✨ Seal it in.
Simple. Intentional. Barrier-first.
