Hay cosas que no tienen precio porque llevan dentro pedacitos de nuestra historia. ❤️
En los años 90, terminando mi adolescencia y mientras trabajaba en Bávaro, unos pintores españoles crearon este retrato de mis padres a partir de dos fotografías separadas que yo tenía de ellos.
Desde entonces ha sido uno de mis tesoros más preciados. Y tiene otro detalle muy especial: fue enmarcado en la galería del maestro Guillo Pérez (1925–2014), uno de los grandes referentes de las artes plásticas dominicanas, cuyo reconocido taller y galería estuvo durante años en la emblemática calle El Conde.
Este cuadro también ha tenido su propio viaje: de República Dominicana a Nueva York y, finalmente, a mi casa. Mi querido hermano Ángel, que vino a visitarme desde NY, me lo trajo. 🥹❤️
Hoy puedo decir: mis padres finalmente están conmigo en casa.
En esta casa donde, Dios mediante, pienso echar raíces, envejecer y seguir creando recuerdos. Iba a decir “mi última morada”… pero esa la vamos a dejar para muchísimo más adelante. 😂🙏🏽

Some things are priceless because they carry pieces of our story. ❤️
In the 1990s, toward the end of my teenage years while working in Bávaro, Spanish painters created this portrait of my parents from two separate photographs.
It became one of my greatest treasures. It was also framed at the gallery of Guillo Pérez (1925–2014), one of the great figures of Dominican art, whose renowned studio and gallery was located for years on Santo Domingo’s iconic Calle El Conde.
The portrait traveled from the Dominican Republic to New York, and now my dear brother Ángel has finally brought it home to me. 🥹❤️
My parents are finally home with me.
Here, God willing, I plan to put down roots, grow older and keep making memories. I almost called it my “final resting place”… but we’ll save that for MUCH later. 😂🙏🏽
Thank you, dear brother. Today my home feels a little more complete. ❤️
