In case you don’t know us, we are the people behind the chair at VIA Salon! We are a boutique salon located in the heart of SouthPark, Charlotte, NC. We offer a thoughtful, customized experience and specialize in modern color techniques like balayage, lived- in color and vivids along with precision cuts for all genders.

This guest came in with a disconnect in her color.
Her natural dark, cool brunette wasn’t flowing through the lower half — instead, the ends had shifted warm, which tells me a base break had likely been used in the past.

The existing highlights weren’t previously lifted bright enough and were leaning very warm.

So here’s what we did ✨⤵️

• I strategically placed lowlights to reconnect her natural cool dark brown through the mid shaft and ends.
• Added brighter, cleaner highlights throughout entire head to elevate and blend  the existing level 8 blonding.
• Toned her level 8 warm pieces between foils to neutralize the warmth.
• Used a slightly lighter lowlight formula through the front for softness around the face. I frequently do this to not shock the clients.
• Finished with a neutral bright blonde gloss over the entire head to unify and refine.

This is not a one-visit transformation.

Our long-term goal is to embrace her natural cool depth while weaving in bright, diffused highlights that will soften and blend her incoming grays seamlessly. We’ll likely need 2–3 additional visits to fully achieve that balanced, dimensional finish — and that’s the beauty of doing it correctly! So follow along to see this clients continued progress!
