Yes, it is hard when your homegirls get offended by your business policies and its makes it awkward but it's only awkward if they do not RESPECT YOUR CRAFT!

(1) Find friends that respect you and your business by paying your prices because that’s what you are worth. This works in my favor because my friends are mainly hairstylists themselves so we give the respect and receive it equally.

(2)Only discount a service if it is from the kindness of your heart, not because you feel they expect it. Your time is just as valuable as theirs so it should be respected

(3)Think about what your ideal friend looks like and PRAY for those types of friends! We don’t wanna have a friend group full of OPPORTUNIST but of genuine women who are considerate of your time, skill, and cost that it takes to beautify their hair.

This is not a hobby nor a side-hustle, this is my occupation!

We know how it gets when we are a week out from getting our hair done 🫠so we have to keep it together until we see each other again! Here’s are a few tips on what to do when you are in between appointments:

-Continue to wrap your hair at night with a satin scarf. Let’s not ditch the scarf just because you know you’ll be sitting in my chair within the next few days. We should love our hair in every state for maximum results.

-Invest in some stylish turbans to wear in between time

-Have a custom wig? Let’s pull her out , brush her, pop some curls and wear her in between time. It’s never a bad idea to have a backup wig collection for moments as such.

I know it gets restless but hopefully these tips have you looking and feeling put together until our hair date!

We've heard the saying “jack of all trades, but master of none.” And that can be applied to the hair industry. I found that once I boiled down my services and really took time to perfect the techniques of the set of styles I wanted to offer, my mental and physical load became lighter. I applaud the women who are masters of all, though I choose to work within my comfort and in the area that I thrive the most. I knew niching down was the best decision for me because I :

-Now feel excited to go into work to do the services I love all day
-Have eased my anxiety when it comes to checking my schedule, because the options are few which leaves no room for miscellaneous services
- Have more time devoted to giving my clients hair what it needs and continuously researching and applying the best techniques/products to love on their hair since my focus has been funneled.

Once I did a spring cleaning on what services I was passionate about, which services would benefit the health of my clients hair and what I wanted my brand to be known for, things became easier for me.
