You & who? 👀👀👀

09/24/2026

It’s a privilege to be surrounded by people who inspire growth, & WOW this weekend was a lot of that

There were so many “I can’t believe I get to be here” moments at Shark Fin Shears Educator Training

The Shark Fin Edge is in all of us.

It’s creativity. Community. Connection.

Vinni Prosseda said at dinner one night that conviction is what makes a great educator, and every single person on this team has that.

Thank you Shark Fin & 𝒜𝓈𝒽 𝐹💗𝓇𝓉𝒾𝓈 ✨ 𝒱𝐵/𝒱𝒶 for bringing all of us together (I still can’t believe I get to work with you)

I can’t wait to see you all again & share what we’ve been working on.

Stay sharp🦈✨✂️

Steps to a Bixie Breakdown:

1- breathe
2- is it leaning more towards bixie or bob
3- does the perimeter kick out or bevel in
4- where does it hit on the face (styled & not styled)
5- let the head shape determine your sectioning
6- hit follow for part 2 ✨

Bixie examples cut by myself and my bixie cutting queen of a pal ellie

The solution to cutting problems are usually WAY more simple than we make them

Stop trying to decorate a half baked haircut & start revisiting the recipes you know✨

In case you need to shift your perspective👇🏼

✨ getting the “hey girl” text asking for an adjustment after their appointment - you made them comfortable enough to ask, and that’s actually super awesome!

✨ a client deciding at a consultation they actually don’t want you doing their hair - does it sting? Hell yes. But it’s also WAY better than doing a whole appointment stressed out/then not liking the results

✨ asking your clients to adjust so you can finish their cut or color - 99% of the time they’re totally down to help you out, especially if it’s going to guarantee the quality of their hair.

✨ clients seeing another stylist - that’s their choice! It also feels really cool if they end up back in your chair in the future after trying a few other stylists out

✨ Admitting you’re not comfortable with a service/referring a client out - it doesn’t make you a bad stylist, it makes you a trustworthy one. If it bothers you, look for classes

What did I miss? Add yours in the comments🫶🏼

The first step to fixing any problem is understanding where that problem is coming from.

When you understand the source, you can find the solution much faster.

As someone who does a lot of corrective cutting behind the chair, I can say with confidence that 9/10 “ruined” haircuts aren’t actually ruined, the previous stylist just didn’t understand the “why” behind the problem & tried to slap a bandaid on it.
