2026 Graduated with an Advanced Studies, Summa Cum Laude, Early College Scholar, Career and Technical Ed Completers, Excellence in Civics, STEM, AP Scholars and Governor’s Seal.

She is a member of: National Honor Society, National Medical Honor Society, National English Honor Society

Member of the Varsity Ladies Soccer Team last 2 years.
2025, helped her team win Regionals and States; 1st team All Regional, 2nd team Jefferson District, 2nd team All State

2026 season is still going. Her team is currently undefeated, has won Jefferson District, and have qualified for Regional Quarter Finals.

Kacie is a Junior member of Western Albemarle Rescue Squad. She has earned her EMR and EMT-B Certifications

Tech or Text Neck

Tech or Text neck is pain and discomfort in the neck caused by repetitive strain and injury to the muscles and other tissue structures of the cervical spine. This is caused by poor posture; usually by being in a seated position with the head tipped forward and chin down; using a technological device such as a phone, tablet or laptop. With the increase of virtual working, meetings and education, this has been become one of the more common complaints this past year.

Common symptoms of tech or text neck:
Headaches
Increased pain when tilting the head forward
Generalized aching and discomfort in lower neck, shoulders and upper back
Sharp, stabbing, intense pain localized in one spot
Reduced mobility or stiffness in the neck, shoulders and upper back
Correct your posture (see picture) or text neck is a weakness that goes down into the arms.

A couple of things to help tech or text neck is:
Correct your posture, (see picture)
Get up from your workstation more frequently; set an alarm to remind yourself
Tilt your head forward gently, touch your chin to your chest, hold for five seconds, then release. Rotate your head to the left until you feel a mild stretch. Hold for five seconds, then repeat to the right.
