Harp's Happiness Hacks
Be the Sunshine to brighten everyday. Be the spark that ignites a ripple effect of kindness.
The holiday season has officially started. I know it can be a stressful time for families. I find this is a good time to reflect on what we are grateful for as this can help in changing our perspective during the Holidays.
I would love to hear from all of my, "Harp's Happiness Hackers"
What are three people, places or things you are grateful for right now?
Hello to all of my Happiness Hackers! I know it's been a few weeks since I have posted but I am back and full of energy. I am happy for the cooler weather and welcome all of the beautiful colors that fall brings.
This Hack will be for the next 2 to 3 weeks.
It is called, "Gratitude Leaf Walk"
Take a walk outside and collect at least three colorful leaves. With each leaf think of something or someone your thankful for. When you get home place the leaves somewhere visible - like a bowl, jar, or taped near your desk - as a visual reminder of gratitude.
This combines the practice of gratitude and nature savoring which boost well-being. Plus, fall's unique beauty makes it easier to feel awe and appreciation.
As always, I would love to see some pictures of your leaves and who or what it reminds you of.
Happy Hacking, Hackers!

What's up to all of my happiness hackers!
Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend.
It's time for a "Harp's Happiness Hack" for the short work week.
I am calling this one, "Bliss Booster". In positive psychology we refer to this as a "Primer". Primers are all about gently steering our focus and mindset towards positivity, which can enhance overall well-being. They're like little nudges that prepare our minds to embrace the good in our lives. This could be a sound like listening to your favorite song or playlist. It could be a visual cue like reading a positive quote or something tangible that makes you happy when you see it.
I have quotes of aspirations written on my mirror in my bathroom that I see first thing in the morning. I also have all of my AA medallions laid out by my keys that remind me of the gratitude I have for my sobriety. Then something just as small as the smiley face on my coffee mug can help.
What are some of the "Primers" you are using? Please share! I am curious of what works for you.
Happy Hacking!
I got over 220 reactions on one of my posts last week! Thanks everyone for your support! 🎉

Great example of a random act of kindness. Love it!
I don’t know this girl's name, but I’ll never forget her. While walking into the bank, I held the door for a lady. We started chatting, and I told her my son was graduating that day. I said I was trying to enjoy every moment. After I finished at the counter, she quietly slipped an envelope onto the table and said, “Congratulations, I’m so happy for you.” Inside was $50! I tried to give it back, but she smiled and said, “You light up when you talk about your son.” That small act of kindness meant so much."❤️

What's up to all of my Happiness Hackers. I missed you all as I skipped last week. I hope you all had a great week!
This weeks "Harp's Happiness Hack" is all about positive emotions, kindness and social connection.
I'm calling it, "Compliment Connection"
I would like to challenge all of my fellow Hackers to compliment one complete stranger a day for the next week. Whether it's something they are wearing, their amazing smile or their hair cut.
Complimenting a stranger can be a wonderful way to practice and apply positive psychology in your everyday life. It's a simple yet powerful act that fosters positive emotions not only for the recipient but also for the giver.
As always, please share your experiences. If you could get a picture with the recipient of your compliment you will get extra credit. LOL.
Happy Hacking ya'll!
What's up everyone. Hope you all enjoyed the weekend. Especially if you live in VA and enjoyed the cooler weather.
Thanks for all the pictures and shares about nurturing nature from last weeks "Harp's Happiness Hacks"
It's time for a new Happiness Hack for the upcoming week.
This one I am calling, "Mindful Connection Moment"
Have you ever had a friend or family member that you haven't seen or talked to in a while just pop into your consciousness? You think, I wonder how they are? I think this is part of "Good Karma" and we should text or call the individual.
By reaching out to someone who pops into your mind, you're practicing mindfulness, empathy, and gratitude, all of which are cornerstones of positive psychology. You're not only strengthening your bonds but also spreading happiness.
I am hoping that all of my Happiness Hackers will reach out to at least one person this week and just simply say, "Hey, I was thinking about you, I miss and love you"
Happy Hacking! Please, please share your experience.

Good evening to all my Happiness Hackers! I hope you all had a great weekend!
It is time for a new "Harp's Happiness Hack" for the upcoming week. I think we will all have some relatedness with this hack.
This week's Hack is called, "Nature Nurture"
Step outside and soak in the beauty of nature. Whether it's a grand tree or a tiny flower, let the natural world inspire awe and peace.
I'm going to guess that all of my fellow hackers have a story of how the power of nature altered your mood slightly or profoundly as nature has a way of reminding us of what is important.
Please, please share your stories. I want to and I need to hear how nature has changed your mood and opened your heart. So please take a moment and share an experience of how nature had a positive impact on your life & please the more pictures of nature the better. Pictures, pictures & more pictures!
Hello everyone, hope you all had a good week and hopefully a better weekend.
It's time for a new "Harp's Happiness Hack"
This Happiness Hack is called, "Best Possible Self"
This exercise is grounded in the concept of optimism and the idea that focusing on our best possible outcomes can enhance our motivation and overall wellbeing.
To do the exercise, simply set aside some quiet time to write about your life as you envision it in the future. Describe what you're doing, how you're feeling, and the positive impact you're having on the world. Write in the present tense as if it's happening now. This can be a transformative exercise, helping you connect with your aspirations and the person you wish to become.
I love this exercise! The first time I did it, I got really emotional about what I wrote. It really opened me up to who I want to be in the future. It helped me set small goals to ultimately reach a bigger goal.
I hope that you all give it a try and as always, I would love to hear your experience with the exercise.
