My one shot from my 2nd Dyngus Day event today.
I've been so busy lately creating cool on the fly art art all my events that I really do forget to take pictures.
Just know that all my designs vary because I love to just freestyle and tweak designs per face.

This is the only picture I got from one of today's 2 Dyngus day events.

Today!
Your girl was blessed enough to be asked to help celebrate El Día De Los Puertorriqueñidad with 3 CLASSROOMS at School 30 by painting their faces in Traditional Taino Makeup.

(Most of it is not "traditional," its traditional-ISH, with a twist)

The teachers created a lesson plan about the historical significance of this day.

And how it brings PRIDE to our people!

Here is some history and the backstory of today's date!

"Día de los Puertorriqueñidad" translates to "Day of Puerto Rican-ness" and is a day that honors the culture, history, and identity of Puerto Ricans.

While it's celebrated in different ways, it is a day to remember and appreciate the diverse heritage of the island, from indigenous and African roots to Spanish and American influences.

It's a celebration of Puerto Rican identity and heritage.

It falls on November 19th, the anniversary of Christopher Columbus's arrival in Puerto Rico in 1493. (You know. Colonization.)

Previously known as "Día del Descubrimiento" (Discovery Day), the name was changed to emphasize Puerto Rican identity over European arrival. (Because we don't conform to colonizers)

People celebrate through various cultural activities, teach younger generations about their history, and embrace traditions that reflect their blend of indigenous, Spanish, and African influences.

Today was basically the day that Christopher Columbus stumbled across our Beautiful island, claimed it as Spain's and colonized it.

And just like Indigenous Peoples Day, we took it RIGHT BACK!

I'm sooo happy to be apart of teaching our youth about their roots. I didn't get this type of teachings until I was an adult and sought it out myself.

The fact that we are going out of our way to teach our babies is amazing.

They were sooo happy.
Check out these cute faces!

(More pics to come!)

Adults Only Event!

How freaking awesome is it that this cool group of people had face painting at their event?

It's not just for kids, yall.

Check out these cool freestyles I did today.

Many of my freestyle designs come from me communicating with the person in my chair, reading their energies, checking out their outfits.

And each freestyle design, the person was so shook at how it was maybe their favorite colors, it matched their outfit colors, it matched designs on them, it was something they loved, etc etc. Each person was just nothing but smiles.

This is so dope. I love my job. I love meeting people. Creating fun experiences. Doing something I love doing.

Book me for your adult events.
I'm such a vibe!
