Today, a gentleman named Jason walked into the salon looking for a fresh cut, and I’m so glad I was there to sit him in my chair.

Jason is an aircraft mechanic with PJ Helicopters, working tirelessly behind the scenes to keep the air attack helicopters flying high so they can fight active wildfires. He literally just flew in from fighting fires in Ontario to relieve another mechanic who had been working 20 days straight!

It was an absolute honor to hook him up with a fresh haircut, beard trim, and scalp massage before he heads out to support our community. He even gifted me this awesome shirt!

Meet Matt! He just flew into Oregon straight from working a fire line out in Colorado. Between flight delays in Portland and shops closing early, he thought he was stuck carrying weeks of wildfire scruff onto his next assignment at the Bench Fire.

He found Hoyt Hair Company on Google, didn’t even see my Facebook post about offering free haircuts for the firefighters, called to see if we were open today, and came right on in. A fresh fade, a crisp beard trim, and a great conversation later, he was ready to head back out to keep our community safe.
