Hi!! My name is Heidi and I’m excited to announce my candidacy for School Committee! I’m a Mom of 4, with 3 currently in our schools. Recently, I have been frustrated with the direction our schools are taking and the action- or often inaction, of the current school committee. I have decided it was time to do more than just speak out and time to step up. I am running for Glocester School Committee because I believe strong schools and responsible leadership go hand in hand. As a parent, taxpayer, and community member, I want to help ensure that every decision we make keeps students at the center while respecting the families and residents who support our schools.

My priorities are simple: student safety, fiscal responsibility, transparency, strong educational opportunities, and collaboration with our community.

Our students deserve schools where they feel safe, supported, and able to learn. Parents deserve confidence that concerns will be taken seriously, policies will be followed, and communication will be timely and transparent.

I also believe we can support excellent schools while being responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars. Every major expenditure should have a clear purpose, sustainable funding, and demonstrated value for students. Responsible budgeting allows us to protect what matters most: great teachers, strong academics, special education services, math and literacy supports, athletics, music, art, and all the programs that help our children thrive.

Transparency is equally as important. Residents should be able to understand the decisions being made, the information behind them, and how their tax dollars are being spent. School Committee members should ask thoughtful questions, examine the facts, listen to the public, and provide meaningful oversight.

Most importantly, I believe progress comes through collaboration. Our School Committee, Town Council, administrators, educators, parents, and taxpayers will not always agree—but we can listen to one another and work toward real solutions.

I love Glocester and believe deeply in our schools and our community. I am running to bring a thoughtful, and practical voice to the School Committee—one focused on accountability, responsible decision-making, and doing what is best for our students and our town.
