UPDATE 12:00pm: Power has been restored and services at CIHA have resumed to operate as normal. If your appointment was cancelled due to the outage, please call the appropriate department to reschedule.

Due to a power outage in the area, some services at Cherokee Indian Hospital Authority are delayed or temporarily suspended.

Duke Energy is currently working to restore power and estimates service will be restored by 2:30 p.m.

The CIHA Eye Clinic and Dental Clinic are unable to see patients until power is restored. Other departments are continuing to see patients using available accommodations, including flashlights and other backup measures.

Patients with scheduled appointments are encouraged to call their department before arriving for the most current information regarding services and appointment availability.

Analenisgi was proud to join the 2026 Cherokee Rally for Recovery and take part in what healing in community truly looks like.

Throughout the event, our teams at Analenisgi and Kavvowotyi were proud to talk with individuals in recovery and loved seeing so many people enjoy the event as a way to spend time with their families, connect with Tribal leaders, law enforcement officers, peer support specialists, recovery advocates, and others all who want to celebrate the journey they are on.

Seeing everyone come together in one place was the perfect reminder that recovery does not happen in isolation. It happens when people feel supported rather than judged. It happens when families are included, when healthcare providers listen, when community leaders show up, and when individuals in recovery know they are seen, valued, and never alone.

This year’s message, “It takes all of us to heal one of us,” reflects a value our people have always known... community is what will help us heal.

Thank you to everyone who worked to organize this year’s rally and to every volunteer, advocate, healthcare professional, peer support specialist, Tribal leader, law enforcement officer, family member, and community partner who helped make the event possible.

Most importantly, thank you to those who are walking the path of recovery. Your courage, strength, and willingness to share your journey helps reduce stigma, inspires us, and creates a healthier future for our entire community.

TAKE NOTE OF THIS FOR THIS WEDNESDAY

We want to make our patients, community, and partners aware of a planned telephone system upgrade taking place on Wednesday, July 8, between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. EST.

During this time, Cherokee Indian Hospital Authority will be transferring our phone numbers to a new telecommunications provider. This proactive upgrade is part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring our phone system remains dependable, resilient, and available when our patients need us most.

As a healthcare organization, reliable communication is essential. This change is being made to strengthen the reliability and redundancy of our phone services, helping us better serve our community now and in the future.

During the scheduled two-hour transition window, callers may experience intermittent disruptions. Phone lines may temporarily go in and out of service, callers may occasionally receive a busy signal, and some outbound calls may also be affected while the transfer is completed.

Our Information Technology team and telecommunications partners will be closely monitoring the transition to minimize any disruption and restore full service as quickly as possible.
