We’ll be gathering in the energy of the Leo New Moon, a beautiful time to reflect on confidence, self expression, courage, creativity and the parts of ourselves that are ready to be seen more fully.

New Moons symbolize new beginnings and offer us an opportunity to get intentional about what we want to nurture and create in the weeks and months ahead.

Reiki is a gentle energy practice that can support deep relaxation, stress reduction and a greater sense of balance and connection. You do not need any previous experience with Reiki, meditation, crystals or New Moon practices to attend.

One of my favorite parts of our gatherings is pulling an Oracle message for each person at the end of the evening. It never ceases to amaze me how timely and encouraging these messages tend to be and how deeply they resonate with our attendees. You won’t be taking the actual Oracle card home, but you will leave with the message meant for you.

Come exactly as you are. This evening is about giving yourself space to rest, reflect, receive and get clear about what you want to move toward next.

Please bring your own yoga mat, sleeping bag or cozy blanket so you can get comfortable during our guided meditation and Reiki experience. Feel free to bring a pillow or anything else that will help you fully relax and settle into the evening.

I’d love to know your thoughts. Do you think there’s a difference between self-maintenance and self-care?

I’ve been reflecting on the difference between self-maintenance and self-care, and I’ve realized they’re not the same thing.

Self-maintenance is taking care of your outward self. It’s getting your hair done, your lashes filled, your nails painted, going to the gym, buying clothes that make you feel good. These things matter. They can be fun, creative, and give us a genuine boost in confidence.

But self-care is different.

It’s tending to your inner world. Moving your body because it feels good and it’s your way of loving it and coming back to your self. It’s resting when you’re tired, setting boundaries, processing emotions, spending time with God, journaling, going to therapy, meditating, taking a walk, or simply giving yourself permission to slow down.

I believe both are important…
When we focus only on self-maintenance, we can sometimes find ourselves chasing the next thing that will finally make us feel “enough.” Another appointment. Another purchase. Another makeover. We keep trying to fill an inner need with outer changes, and the confidence can feel temporary or superficial.

But when we pair self-maintenance with genuine self-care and self-love, something shifts.

We stop looking to beauty to create our worth and instead allow it to express how we already feel inside.

Ironically, the more connected we become to ourselves, the less we feel the need to constantly chase what’s next. We become more intentional. We have more agency. We know what truly fills us up and what we’re simply using as a distraction.

You dont need to choose one over the other. I think it’s about recognizing that one helps us care for the outside, while the other strengthens the inside.

And when they work together they complement each other. That’s a good balance ….
