As some of you know, in addition to an injector I am also a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) providing anesthesia services at one of our inner city hospitals in Detroit. In October myself and my husband, who is also a CRNA, are traveling to Uganda, Africa for two weeks in order to join Operation International on a medical mission trip along with an amazing group of other volunteer nurses, doctors, and scrub techs. We are fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to join team Michigan which is being led by our very own Detroit-based surgeon Dr. Attasit Chokechanachaisakul. While there, we will be providing free surgical care to the less fortunate and putting our anesthesia services to much needed good use.

Operation International is a humanitarian, nonprofit organization whose goal is to provide free medical care to children and adults suffering from the lack of basic health care in poor countries. Their ability to continue to operate is based solely on the volunteers that provide their time as well as donations provided by people like you! All monetary donations provided to OI are directly and fully used toward providing these surgeries abroad. Please consider donating to their cause so they can continue to provide this amazing service to people who would otherwise be unable to afford care. Even the smallest amount goes a long way!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month which sadly hits a lot harder this year for us. As some of you know, and I’m sure several of you do not, my amazing sister-in-law Nancy passed away earlier this year after her battle with metastatic breast cancer.
