This is Cole Schmidtknecht. He was 22 years old. He had asthma. His life depended on a daily inhaler. One day he went to the pharmacy and found out the inhaler that used to cost him about $65 suddenly cost over $500. He had to choose between paying his rent or buying the medication that kept him alive. He chose rent. Five days later he suffered a fatal asthma incident.

No one should pass away because they are poor. No one should have to choose between housing and breathing. This is not a medical failure. This is a system failure. If this doesn’t make you angry then you’re not paying attention. Healthcare should never be a luxury. Cole deserved to live.

Jimmy Kimmel returned to his long-running late-night show Tuesday, less than a week after network broadcaster ABC pulled "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" over remarks he made about the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

An emotional Kimmel on Tuesday said that "it's important to me as a human, and that is, you understand that it was never my intention to make light of the murder of a young man. I don't think there's anything funny about it," noting that he had taken to social media following Kirk's killing to send his condolences to Kirk's family. Kimmel didn't apologize for his monologue remarks last week, but said he understood how it was offensive to some.

Kimmel also took aim at President Trump, who criticized his return. The late-night host told his audience Tuesday that the president "made it very clear he wants to see me and the hundreds of people who work here fired from our jobs. Our leader celebrates Americans losing their livelihoods because he can't take a joke."
