A little change is coming around here!
If you've been following along for a while, you know we opened our little honor-system roadside stand in 2024 as The Herb & Hen. What started as a place to share extra eggs and homemade goods has grown into so much more.
Instead of keeping everything separate, we're bringing it all together under one umbrella. Going forward, you'll see our roadside stand referred to as the Aster + Blake Mercantile.
The Aster + Blake Apothecary isn't going anywhere! We're still making the same handcrafted tallow skincare and herbal goods you've come to know and love. This change simply gives us one place to share everything we're passionate about, including our apothecary products, cottage baked goods, pantry staples, and the everyday rhythm of our homestead.
Thank you for being here and supporting this little dream. We can't wait to share what's ahead.

These are such an underrated way to use tallow ✨
Local, hand-rendered tallow is blended with coconut oil and shea butter to deliver deep, lasting hydration—especially during the dry winter months. Lightly scented with high-quality organic essential oils of peppermint, pine, and vanilla for a gentle, cozy winter aroma that isn’t overpowering.

For best results, apply to slightly damp skin after handwashing or showering. I especially love using these on my legs and other larger areas to keep winter skin happy and nourished 🤍
