Community: Merriam-Webster defines it as a unified body of individuals, and the town of Chesterton truly lived up to that when Lucy the Derecho Hurricane hit. Everyone showed up with a “how can I help” attitude, bringing food, water, ice, fuel, chainsaws, and lending a hand wherever needed. Once the debris is gone, this will be just a memory, but I’ll always remember how our townspeople came together to support one another. The Chesterton cemetery was where we landed among other places to help with clean-up. While we may not be back to business as usual just yet as a community, we’re certainly giving it our all.

This was Friday!!!! We do have power today Saturday and are so very happy to see that others are getting restore as well💕our little town pulling together and helping others where we can has been the light needed in so many. This to shall pass and we look forward to some normalcy very soon.
