This was a whirlwind week for sure. I became an official volunteer for Cheyenne Frontier Days with the Grounds Committee and the memories made were worth it.

I was up before the sun all 10 days to help make breakfast for other volunteers and anyone else who was hungry and stopped in. My youngest daughter came with me to help 8 of the 10 days. My bestie Jenny Tim-Jennifer Dice began bringing me along for the shenanigans in the morning years ago and it's still one of my favorite parts of CFD.

A few mornings I snuck away for a bit to do hair for Miss Frontier and her Lady in Waiting, giving those young ladies a moment to sit and catch their breath.

Our committee helps with anything that needs fixed or cleaned up during the 10 days of show. We also help with some of the rodeo including setting the barrels, and managing the gate during the wild horse race. It's a crazy exhausting week, but such an incredible opportunity to be a part of a legendary rodeo.

We kicked off with Miss Frontier Katherine Olson's Coronation Ball. Then on to the Queen's Brunch for all of the past, and visiting rodeo royalty. This was an extra special morning because Katie Young sang the national anthem for us!

Friday the Daddy of 'Em All kicked off and it has been a whirlwind of early mornings making breakfast for volunteers, midway rides, night shows, and of course, rodeo!!!

My sweet friend Morgane Dussault invited me to see Jessie Murph HQ and Treaty Oak Revival . Boomtown was an experience!

The week before CFD kicked off I called in to Jeff and Sadie's morning show on K99 and won tickets to see Red Clay Strays. My husband and I both love them! They have such a unique sound and are incredibly talented musicians. I was so excited to get to see them for the second time at CFD. So thank you Jeff and Sadie!!!

Look for some hairstyles with Cheyenne Frontier Days Royalty over the next few days! I have had the pleasure of being able to work with Miss Frontier over the last couple of years beginning with her year as lady-in-waiting. She is truly a beautiful soul and I have enjoyed getting to know her and her family. She has been a fantastic ambassador for CFD and one of the hardest working young women I have met. Prior to last year I had very little knowledge of what a rodeo queen does. I have developed a great appreciation for the time and sacrifice that these young women make, as well as the sacrifices of their family getting them to events and hauling their horses and the wardrobes!

Just a quick sneak peak of some of my education this morning! I got the opportunity to learn some new texture styling techniques with Brian Washburn and Joe Chesbro! I love working with texture and curly clients and I was so excited to get to acquire some new skills to bring back to the chair.

This weekend has been full of lots of education and networking. There's still one more day to go!!!

I headed to the Redken Symposium a few days early and got the chance to spend some time with friends before the show. Laura and Pathfinder33 picked me up at the airport in Vegas and have been graciously hosting me. Today Laura and I got some e-bikes and toured Zion National Park Canyon. We did several hikes along the way. It was a great day catching up, being out in nature, and of course tacos!!! We have been friends for years and I was so glad it worked out to spend a little time in beautiful St. George with them.

It's almost show time and there's a lot of work left to do! One of my favorite things about living in Cheyenne, Wyoming is being able to volunteer with Cheyenne Frontier Days!

This project involved removing nails from fencing boards that were being repurposed in another location in the park.
