Sometimes I’m most inspired by some gorgeous people with sexy ideas. This was one of the last days in my old creative space. Thankfully I still get to work with this lovely Chicagoan Super Mom. This was one of her and I’s consistent lightener base/tone/trim visits that happen once a month 💚🐺
🚨Round 8🚨 8th time I have had the honor of making Kyle not so Smolinski into a Rainbro. He is a rainbow but for a short time a yr, but he is a light always. He seems to always have a smile and a warm laugh not far behind. June is Liberation Month. I consider it a time to remember to be thankful for living in a time that I could possibly take rainbows for granted. How dare I ever take the gift of seeing color for granted. No matter what has happened or what lies ahead, it is a time I try to remember what matters most. We are still here 🌈

I’ve known her much longer but have been doing Lia’s color since 2020 when she started growing it out. Today we did a global blonding leaving out only what we had lifted before, then a base/highlight with a couple tones of Purple, Wild Orchid, and Magenta. Because of her hair texture’s delicate nature we used Olaplex and K18 all the way. When I first started doing her color she helped me learn how to drill by doing and ahowing me how to drill and install the mounted shelving at my last location. I’m so happy to still have the gift of knowing her and having her at .hair.day.chicago to create some new memories.

The thing about letting go of one thing thing, is you get your hand back. You get to reach for what’s next. I’m officially up and running inside this sexy new salon .hair.day.chicago . This is an open concept salon, so open environment with independent artists doing their thing in a communal space to allow for more eye candy and connection.
