Today the girls requested a Rummie-inspired braid tutorial, so of course we had to give it a try! We attempted the iconic purple braid and had so much fun bringing their favorite character to life. Watching them get excited about learning new techniques and expressing their creativity is exactly what this camp is all about.

Did we have fun? Absolutely. Did they love it? 100%! 😂💜

Day 1 of JHD Little Beauties Hair Camp was a success! ✨💜

The girls had an amazing time learning about hair care, styling techniques, and building confidence behind the chair. Watching them get excited about learning new skills brought me so much joy. I’m incredibly grateful to be able to provide this opportunity for our youth.

This camp is something I truly wish I had growing up—a safe, fun space to learn, create, and explore the beauty industry. Seeing these young girls engaged, asking questions, and taking pride in their work reminds me exactly why I started this camp.

Before my client arrived, I came in an hour early to customize and prep her extensions to ensure a seamless blend. The hair was colored a rich blue-black the day before, giving it the perfect depth and shine. 🖤

For this install, I used 22” kinky straight K-tip extensions to complement her natural texture and create a beautiful, full look that still feels lightweight and versatile.

To make maintenance even easier, my client also received a keratin treatment, which will help reduce frizz, smooth the hair, and make styling a breeze. The combination of a keratin treatment and kinky straight K-tips is perfect for clients who want length, fullness, and low-maintenance styling.

As we celebrate Mother’s Day tomorrow, let’s love on the new moms a little harder. 🌸

One of my clients was getting ready to host her son’s 1st birthday party and really needed her hair done, but she couldn’t find a sitter. She texted me feeling stressed, asking if it would be okay to bring her baby to her appointment. Without even thinking twice, I told her, “Of course!”

Started my morning with a quick run to Lowe’s for water and stopped at Jewel for fresh fruit + flowers to brighten up the salon 🌸🍓

Then it was time to get behind the chair:
• K-tip install for my first client
• Quick lunch + salon clean up
• Microlink removal & quick weave transformation for client #2
• Sleek ponytail for my last beauty of the day ✨

Ended the night opening packages because the hairstylist life never really stops 😂📦

Long days, busy schedule, and lots of hair magic in between… but I wouldn’t trade it for anything 💕
