The Chicago World's Fair of 1893 was an American exposition held from May 1, 1893 to October 30, 1893 in Chicago, USA.
The Chicago World's Fair sold 21.5 million tickets and offered free admission to 6 million people, bringing the total number of visitors to 27.5 million. Tickets were sold for 50 cents for adults and 25 cents for children between the ages of 6 and 12, with free admission for children under 6 years old. The largest attendance was on Chicago Day, October 9, 1893, when 700,000 people attended to see the festivities and exhibits that day. Private cameras may be brought into the Expo grounds for an additional $2 per day. As a result of the successful hosting of the World's Fair, Chicago was ranked among the central cities of the United States.
