🧠 Not every headache is the same, and the pattern can provide important clues.
Headaches are commonly classified into different types, including tension-type headaches, migraines, and headaches associated with the neck.
🔎 Tension-type headaches*are often described as pressure or tightness around the head.
🌩️ Migraines*can involve throbbing or pulsing pain and may come with symptoms such as nausea or sensitivity to light and sound.
🦴 Headaches associated with the neck** can sometimes begin around the neck or back of the head and may change with certain neck movements or positions.
That distinction matters because the same approach may not be appropriate for every type of headache.
Pay attention to when your headaches happen, where they begin, what makes them worse, and what other symptoms appear with them. 📝
When we evaluate someone with recurring headaches, we look beyond where the pain is felt. We can review the headache pattern, assess neck and spinal movement, look at posture and movement patterns, and identify areas of stiffness or limited mobility that may be contributing to the symptoms.
If headaches are becoming frequent or affecting your daily activities, we can help you take a closer look at the pattern and determine what may be contributing to it.

Tight hips don’t always mean you simply need to “stretch more.”
Sometimes the bigger issue is how well your hips can move, load, and control different positions. If your hips feel stiff when squatting, getting down to the floor, lunging, or changing positions, working on mobility with control can be more useful than forcing a deeper stretch.
The Bow Hip Stretch is a great way to gradually expose the hip to more range while also challenging the muscles around the hip and knee.
Try it like this:
1️⃣ Start in a comfortable kneeling position with one knee forward and the other leg behind you.
2️⃣ Place your hands on the floor and keep your hips and shoulders square.
3️⃣ Slowly slide your hips backward until you feel a comfortable stretch through the hip.
4️⃣ Gently shift side to side or pulse in and out of the position.
5️⃣ As the movement becomes easier, gradually work deeper into the range.
6️⃣ For an added challenge, lift the back leg slightly and use your hip to control the movement.
You shouldn't have to force your way into the deepest position.
The goal is to gradually build mobility, strength, and control so your hips can move through a greater range with more confidence. 🦵
If your hips constantly feel tight despite stretching, it may be worth looking at how they're moving and loading, not just how far you can stretch.

🍂 Before tackling your fall to-do list, make sure your body is ready for it.
Fall yard work and seasonal chores can involve more bending, lifting, reaching, and standing than your body may be used to. Here are five simple ways to help your body handle the extra activity:
✓ Warm Up Before Yard Work
Going straight into raking, digging, or lifting can place a sudden demand on your muscles and joints. Start with a few minutes of easy movement to gradually prepare your body for the work ahead.
✓ Lift With Proper Form
Bags of leaves, boxes, tools, and outdoor equipment can add up quickly. Keep the load close to your body, use your legs when lifting, and avoid twisting while carrying something heavy.
✓ Take Regular Movement Breaks
Hours of bending, standing, or working in one position can leave certain areas of the body feeling stiff and fatigued. Changing positions and taking short movement breaks gives your body a chance to reset.
✓ Stay Active As Temperatures Drop
Cooler weather can make it tempting to spend more time sitting indoors. Keeping up with regular movement helps maintain strength, mobility, and overall physical function throughout the season.
✓ Don’t Ignore Recurring Pain
If the same area continues to hurt during certain activities, don't simply keep pushing through it. Recurring discomfort can be a sign that your body is having difficulty handling a particular movement or workload.
🍂 Fall is a great time to stay active. Just make sure your body is prepared for the activities you're asking it to do.
