Thinking about going platinum? 🤍 Here’s what to know before you decide:

• Start with virgin hair. That means zero previous color. If you have old highlights, it’s okay, but depending on how blonde you were, achieving that perfect platinum may take up to two sessions or a very long one.

• Your natural color matters. Platinum hair is easiest to achieve if your natural base is already light (typically dark blonde to light brown). If your hair is naturally darker, you can absolutely go lighter but it won’t be this icy-platinum unless you love broken hair and I’m sure you don’t. You’ll achieve a softer, dimensional blonde that’s still beautiful, but healthier for your hair.

• About the retouch. Let’s talk about this, because no one ever does 👀 staying on schedule is key.
If you keep up with your maintenance appointments, your retouch will be simple and seamless.
But if your roots grow out too long, it becomes physically impossible to lift everything evenly in the same amount of time as a shorter grow-out. It’s really that simple.
