🌼 Calendula-Infused Jojoba Oil

Calendula is one of my favorite herbs to work with when creating herbal skincare. 🌼 I especially love it for products designed for dry, sensitive, irritated and winter-stressed skin.

Calendula has a long history of traditional topical use and is valued for its soothing and skin-conditioning properties. It’s often incorporated into herbal preparations for dry, itchy or irritated-feeling skin and to help support a healthy-looking skin barrier.

For this infusion, I’m using jojoba oil, which closely resembles the skin’s natural sebum and helps soften and moisturize without leaving the skin feeling overly heavy.

I slowly infuse fully dried calendula flowers into the jojoba, giving the oil time to take on the flower’s oil-soluble constituents. Once finished, I strain the herbs and use this beautiful golden infusion on its own or as a base for balms, salves, body oils, butters and other herbal skincare creations. 🌿

And with fall and winter approaching, now is the perfect time to start preparing those skin-loving herbal infusions. 🍂
