This premiere development workshop was held on June 13, 2012. Businesses were asked to attend to learn how large and small commercial, residential, and industrial development projects on the south side of Chicago “Leverage and Maximize Financial Resources” to promote business investment and growth. Presentations included: Maximizing Enterprise Zone Incentives, Class 6b and Class 7 Real Estate Tax Incentives, and Special Service Area Façade Enhancement Grants.

The Facade Enhancement Program 2012 Update

The Facade Enhancement Program provides grant application assistance and support services which empower business owners with the resources required to renovate the facade of their building. During the first year of the program (2008) six local businesses made significant improvements. In 2009, four local businesses participated and in 2010 eight businesses became involved in the facade enhancement program. Building improvements include but are not limited to: tuck pointing, new doors, windows, signage and lighting options. Additional architectural services include interior design for businesses seeking to expand or renovate the inside of their business.
