Tara began her journey into hairdressing at an early age without realizing where it would take her or how far she would go. At sixteen, she got her first taste of the industry that would eventually become home when she started working as a receptionist at a salon. Her brief stint with other day jobs helped her realize that what she ne

eded was more than a job, but a career where she could push herself to be successful in a creative field. Tara's desire to hone her skills took her from cosmetology school in Milwaukee to a Toni and Guy salon for advanced education and eventually to Chicago where creative freedom and endless opportunities laid in front of her. She put down roots at Art+Science Salon where she could use all her tools and know-how both behind the chair and within their extensive education program as an in-salon educator and Keratin Treatment texture service specialist. It's this passion for styling that has made her a success in the salon as well as in the classes she's taken in Chicago, New York, and the photo-shoots and shows she's gone to in Amsterdam, Denver and LA. With 12 years of experience in the industry and 7 years at Art+Science Salon, countless advanced classes, styling photo-shoots and a loyal clientele who put their trust in her hands, Tara continues to use her innate skills to beautify and transform the world around her. Beyond her work behind the chair, Tara has dedicated her time and energy to others by working alongside local community outreach foundation Reason to Give in Humboldt Park and national program Habitat for Humanity to build homes and raise funds for those with devastating need. The beauty professionals she's worked with and her daily interactions with clients continue to inspire her work, and her expertise in all hair types and styles, both avant garde and classic, are strengthened by her own personal love for natural, "lived in" style.
