Meet 2026 graduate of our CMT program, Pearlie Martin! Pearlie says her time at Soma prepared her for a rewarding career and taught her that the skills she provides are truly valuable. Just two months after graduating, Pearlie has passed the MBLEx, obtained her license, and secured a position in the field. Her goal is to one day start her own massage practice, specializing in sports massage and lymphatic drainage massage. We’re so proud of Pearlie and excited to see what she accomplishes next!

On Monday, July 13th at 5:30pm, Soma will be hosting a virtual employer meet and greet on zoom with Amy Leitl from FFC.  FFC is a premier network of 10 multi-use health, fitness and spa centers across Chicago. They are actively looking to hire Soma graduates. Join us next week to learn more about FFC and the employment opportunities they have.  FFC will also be raffling off a 3-month membership to attendees of this virtual session! Time is running out for eligible students to apply for the 2026 ILLCF Soy El Futuro! Scholarship & Leadership Program, with applications due by July 3, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Through the Illinois Legislative Latino Caucus Foundation (ILLCF), selected scholars will receive a $5,000 scholarship, participate in an exclusive two-day Leadership Development Summit, be recognized at the ILLCF Annual Gala, gain lifetime membership in the ILLCF Alumni Association, and access ongoing leadership and networking opportunities. Eligible applicants must identify as Latino, be Illinois residents, be enrolled part-time or full-time in a certificate, vocational, technical, trade, associate, undergraduate, or graduate program, and must not have previously received an ILLCF scholarship. We encourage you to share this opportunity with students, colleagues, and community networks so that deserving individuals do not miss this life-changing chance for financial support and professional development.
