She ruled ancient Egypt as Pharaoh more than 3,400 years ago.

And her love for one remarkable tree became one of history’s most extraordinary botanical journeys.

Her name was Hatshepsut.

More than 3,400 years ago, Hatshepsut sent an expedition thousands of miles to the Land of Punt, instructing her men to bring back living myrrh trees—not simply resin, but entire trees with their roots intact. They carried them across deserts and seas through dangerous conditions so the trees could be planted in Egyptian soil, where they flourished around her magnificent temple.

Why?

Because myrrh was one of ancient Egypt’s most treasured botanicals. Its rich, warm fragrance filled temples during sacred rituals, perfumed royalty, soothed the skin, served medicinal purposes, and played an important role in mummification. To the ancient Egyptians, it was far more than a pleasant scent—it was a symbol of healing, luxury, and eternity.

Thousands of years later, Hatshepsut’s remarkable journey still inspires me.

As an Egyptian-American founder, I wanted to honor the botanicals my ancestors cherished. Beauty Brand Founder Adventures ✨ | Episode 1: Las Vegas

Come along with me for 72 hours in Las Vegas outside of Cosmoprof… because everyone deserves a little fun after a hard day’s work.
