Hey, HERO HAIR followers. Travis here! I just launched my own animation education & commentary channel on Youtube, spotlighting the industry and cartoons from the golden age, all the way to today’s independent animated content on TikTok, and beyond, and, yes, featuring a few things I’ve personally had a hand in over the years😎.

Here. I quick-fixed Tatiana’s atrocious wig’s hairline, along with some very subtle wig-symmetry adjustment.

Obviously this was not a wig used in the show, but from some other production that was incorporated into this side-by-side here, with She-Hulk, but it’s one of the most egregiously bad-wig/bad-VFX cleanup (known as “beauty budgeting” in the business) jobs, on said bad wig’s hairline, I’ve ever seen, and I simply couldn’t let it rest with my ocd.

Fun fact: I am an adjunct professor of digital pre-visualization for the wig and make up artist at DePaul university, and also do the same for motion pictures and television, including designing and co-constructing the physical wigs themselves with my company, Hero Hair.

There is simply no excuse for a wig to appear like this anywhere in reality, however this happened. The industry just never learns. Is my quick-fix perfect? No. Could I have spent more time fine-detailing it? Sure. But I had an hour, and got it up out of the uncanny valley.

I don’t follow she Hulk. It’s not my jam, but this poor actor can’t seem to catch a break.

So I fixed it.

Finishing Hair-Directional Growth-Pattern (blueprint) plotting™️ and beginning the final detailing if the HERO-Hairline™️ full reveal halo of one of our final private custom wig commissions for HERO HAIR’s cosplay/collector-client division.

We’ve moved full-time into motion pictures & television as of 2024! After 10 years working with Cosplayers and collectors, helping to bring their heroes (and villains) to screen-accurate life off the screen, and even classic-to-contemporary looks.

Featured here is a behind the scenes look at one of our last private-commission builds remaining, in full production for delivery in what will be its fully (French Twist) styled state.

In 2017, we had the rare privilege, and honor, to be involved with the production of “The Greatest Showman” starring High Jackman. It was our studio, Hero Hair’s first motion picture job, a job under an incredible show designer, Jerry Popolis, that would see us creating the custom, featured center-ring performance wigs for several of the characters in Hugh’s circus troupe known as “The Oddities.”

This jaw-dropping video features that original singer, Loren Allred, performing, LIVE, the song featured in that scene. This also happens to be, probably, one of the few perfect live vocal performances ever to exist.

We hope you enjoy it, for those of you who take a few minutes to watch magic happen before your eyes.

When you get to work with this guy, with your studio having designed & created his custom wigs on two motion pictures (yet to be released), and he invites you and your partner (who flew out to apply them on set) to Italy to work on his next one… and tells you on a FT with said partner (during a lunch date ) that you HAVE to quit smoking because “We want those we care about to be around as long as possible,” maybe it’s time to listen.
