Ok, I know this isn't soap, but this year was my first year attempting to grow sweet potatoes and I got so many! I'm so deeply proud of this harvest 🧡🧡

Y'all, the inaugural Armitage County Fair | Inaugural 2026 was an absolute blast and an amazing event! I sold some new stuff, I fixed a cart wheel/tire, I saw some old friends and even a full 🌕! A HUGE thanks goes out to the organizers for inviting me to vend and for working tirelessly to quickly solve any issues that may have popped up. Nothing is perfect in any event, and the fact that they pulled off such a huge and successful event in year 1 is indeed impressive.

Big ups to Pete from middle brow’s natural winery and little brewery. for crushing this event and to everyone who made this possible. Thank you to everyone who came out to shop and party and eat! We cannot wait until next year :)

Here's what we made this week on this : we made a TON of soap as usual, and boxed it all up! We also snuck in the next ready batches of Ghost Stories bar soaps and candles, and even got to see our new body oils coming soon and some new product in the works for winter. It was a full week!

Oh hey 👋🏽, it's me! It's been a long time since I've introduced myself, so hey hello hi, I'm Danielle and I make your soap 🫧

Soap for me has always been a vessel in which to hold the indie fragrance that Soap Distillery has been known for since 2012. I've loved a good smell since I was little, so it came to no surprise that I eventually fell hard into this scented small business life.

I started this company because I was very disappointed in the quality of mainstream bar soap. Unsurprisingly, I still am! What passes for 'high quality", "unique", and "indie" never moved the needle for me, and the moment of peace I found while taking a shower was well worth the effort to find something worth my time. So when I never found it, I realized that I needed to create it.

I love dogs, plants, good food, design, and Chicago! It's nice to meet ya :)
