Hair stylist in Chicago My name is Jacob and I have been cutting and coloring hair for 10 years, specializing in curls for over 8 years.
I love meeting new people and getting to know who they are, all while making them look and feel their best. I enjoy keeping up with the latest trends in hair and introducing them to my clients. Continuing education is a huge part my career because it allows me to be versatile in my career. I would say one of my favorite trends is using the technique of balayage which is a freestyle hand painting of the hair. It is extremely customable and you can go either very subtle or extreme with it, and it really lets me be creative. My number one piece of advice for my clients is to maintain their hair frequently to prevent excess damage and to keep their hair looking its best year round.

I get the question all the time. āIf I get highlights, will it damage my curls?ā My answer is āIf lightener (bleach) is used improperly yes, it can cause so much damage for your curlsā This wonderful client fell victim to a stylist who did not take into consideration that she loves her curls and wanted to go lighter *see original photo*. It took a year with regular trims and no more lightening for it to grow out for me to achieve healthy highlights! IT IS POSSIBLE!
